Let me start off by saying our food was absolutely great. Where this restaurant fell down was in how we were treated. Upon being seated, the hostess took our drink orders. My wife ordered an unsweetened iced tea, and I ordered a coke. The waiter brought back the tea and offered me a diet coke. I pleasantly stated that I had ordered a plain coke and I saw the mild frustration on his face, and he stood there confused momentarily. He asked again, I assume to clarify to which I said that I had ordered a regular coke. At this point, I see a simple misunderstanding, no worries. He comes back a moment later and sets the drink down, and smiles coyly. I take a sip, and it is a diet coke. At this point I'm frustrated, assuming he walked off and returned with the same drink. Seems trivial, sure, but I really do not like diet sodas. I wait for the food to arrive and calmly and politely ask for an unsweet tea as I have no desire to create a scene. He smiles and brings my drink. We finish the meal, and are very pleased. The server then brings our check, and it has two unsweet tea charges, a coke, and a diet coke. Honestly, I would have accepted the extra soda, as I didn't argue that the second soda was diet. I in a note on the receipt the situation, and left only a 10% tip. Yes, I still tipped but this is a pittance compared to my normal tip and the note explained that he lost out tonight and on future visits, reinforced by the fact that I still tipped. There are too many options in the Fort Worth area to patronize a place that creates this sort...
Read moreWas looking for food and this was recommended online so I decided to check it out. The entrance is through the outdoor patio which isn’t marked clearly to let you know this is infact how to get in. So don’t do what I did and walk up the ramp. It’s in this old house that has been converted which I find to be a neat concept. The staff was very friendly and the food was pretty good. However, when my drink can’t stay full I take issue with that. All our food was correct but anything in between the waitress was hard to find. Hot sauce was pretty good and in the spicer side so if you do t like spice dip with caution. Chips were thin so they were breaking while I’m trying to scoop. Ordered table side guac which was good but very heavy on the lemon which I guess they were out of lime and needed salt . It was extremely chunky and the thin chips made it a challenge to eat. Then I got the combo fajitas which were pretty good, they had a seasoning on them perhaps Tijuana. I’m not sure, it was a little different but good all the same. Their veggies needed a little more flavor to be honest. They also didn’t have homemade flour tortillas. You also pay upfront. Overall It was pretty good and I’ll be back for...
Read moreThe atmosphere is good. Clean and the people were friendly. Service was also good. So what is the problem? My food (pardon my French) sucked. What could be more basic Tex Mex than a cheese enchilada plate? I mean if you can’t get this right...! The cold enchiladas were so hard I could barely cut them with a knife and they barely had any sauce on them — tough, dry and cold. Yuk. The tasteless rice also cold. The borachi beans were good and were hot. My wife’s chili rellano was a huge mess of cheese, running off of the plate. I tasted it and it was tasteless. Is it asking too much to taste the chilie? One of our guests barely ate her taco salad but she would only say it was ok. The other guest ate his cowboy enchalidas and said they were good. Even though I live in Aledo I am reluctant to try the location in Hudson Oaks. Can’t believe the stock yard location is still open. There were only a handful of people there even though the area was vibrant. Should have clued us in! Actually it did my wife. Wasted night with our friends searching for...
