Everything about my experience with this shop has been a headache.
I brought my ring that was a family heirloom into the shop and left it with her to replace a diamond and resize. Went back in to get the ring as it hadn't been done on time, and she misplaced it and couldnt find my ring the day i went in to pick it up (which made me a nervous wreck weeks before my wedding) ..she eventually found it, and finished the job (half way)... but she didn't resize it, and she said she did (I took it into another jeweler to look at size and its still the same.) Which was deceiving because I paid for a resize and never got it.
So fast forward to a couple weeks later , my mom brings in another wedding band from her grandmother and we needed it resized (sizing down) and my mom requested the rings extra piece of gold that would come off the ring to be returned to her for her to have and hold. When we went back into the shop today to bring another ring in, the jeweler decided to make a huge scene about it (in front of customers) and gaslight me and my fiancee by saying it's a "red flag" that we wanted the small piece of gold leftover from the ring after sizing was done. She literally said it "makes her feel like we don't trust her". Yeah excuse me but you're a JEWLER, you should be a trustworthy person, and you've already misplaced my other ring once, so I'm definitely not out of line for feeling like I can't trust you.. but regardless.. wanting a piece of gold back from my own family heirloom after resizing isn't about trust , it's about sentimental value for me and my mom. I've never seen a jeweler so offended about the fact that I wanted a small piece of gold back from MY OWN RING after resizing. It baffles me that the owner feels so beyond entitled to someone else's property that isn't hers to claim. I've been in steamboat since 2014 and I've never seen a level of unprofessionalism like I just experienced.
In my opinion this woman/owner of the shop is hardly trustworthy , she is absolutely scattered in her practice and organization (as she misplaced my ring for days and fed me excuse after excuse about her family drama as to why my ring was misplaced.)
I do not recommend at all , and I will never take my business back here. I would rather drive 3 hours to Denver to find a professional jeweler. I come from a family of jewelers myself , and i know a thing or two about how standard work in this line of business. . and this is the most unprofessional jewelry shop I've had the misfortune of working with. If I could give this business negative stars I would, and the customer service was a tragedy to...

My, now, fiancé did a surprise proposal at Fish Creek Falls on a quick anniversary trip. He used a family heirloom that was many sizes too small that also needed the prongs fixed.
Immediately after we went to Angelaâs shop on a whim to get a quote for both resizing and fixing the prongs. Not only did she quote us an incredible price, but she also worked with us to get the job done before we had to leave for Denver the next day!
The ring now fits perfectly and the prongs are fixed! She was honest about the other damage that the setting had upon inspection and recommended a full reset in 1-2 years.
Itâs also worth noting that we tried another jewelry shop in Steamboat to find a silver/titanium ring for my fiancĂ© that same day. The person at that shop tried to sell him a ring that didnât fit and had a rather blasĂ© attitude about us looking. We ended up going back to Angelaâs to order a titanium ring based off of our fantastic experience with her.
We will 100% be returning to Angela in future trips to Steamboat. Coming from Denver itâs hard to find businesses that truly have a personal, caring energy, and Iâm so grateful we met such a fantastic business owner...
Read moreThe folks were really nice, but either didn't realize they were looking at a collection of the world's top 25 rarest gemstone varieties, or just wanted to make me feel inferior
They turned me down and referred me to a store that either didn't exist or was somewhere way different than what they said
This collection is made of naturally occuring, earth-mined minerals, most with absolutely zero treatment (why I buy rough material) and includes high end Brazilian alexandrite, 1.25 carat high end faceted red beryl (bixbite), Australian opal, including a rare black crystal opal, benitoite, ruby on painite, grandidierite, no heat tanzanite, cuprian tourmaline from ParaĂba state, jeremejevite, jadeite, pezzottaite (rasp-beryl), etc, etc, etc.
She said all of the pieces were too small
I wasn't aware of any 5 carat red beryl on the market for less than $5,000
Or any 10 carat high end alexandrite specimens for less than $1,000 per carat
You know, it would be magnificent to have a large sized benitoite, but good luck finding one 2 carats or more in weight, ANYWHERE.
Three stars, because even though they were probably being facetious, they were very...
