They sell Kujiās (Japanese lottery) gifts for $17-$20 here , when they normally are around 700 YEN ($5 USD) in Japan, but that pricing seems standard here in local shops. What makes this shop different is they refuse to show what is remaining for drawing when you purchase the lottery. This is STANDARD process in local Japanese shops and even in many other retailers here in DFW. Especially when you are spending 3x the price of the normal cost of such lotteries, you should know what you have the possibility of winning. Many online Kuji Sellers use similar tactics to swindle and scam you from winning big prizes or waste your money unnecessarily.
I spoke to the shop manager and employee prior to purchasing and they refused to show what had been claimed and stated that itās store policy. Employing practices like this for lottery style purchases (where transparency is king!) is deeply concerning.
RE [ownerās reply] Stating that your shop does not have enough space to display the poster as the sole reason for doing so is unequivocally false. When asking the employee/ manager on staff for the poster, they said that your shop does not show it because āStore Policyā. There was no miscommunication involved as I had explicitly asked the employee to see a poster when visiting your establishment. If transparency is the goal, telling your patrons to just look at shelves piled with items from a distance is not the way to go. To reestablish the original point, Kujiās are ran a certain way for a reason. To run it in this manner with this price point...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been shopping here for years and I have gotten to know the employees here pretty well. They are all so nice and attentive. I also notice them constantly going around the store and keeping it neat and organized whenever people mess up displays or move stuff around. It helps the store feel neat which is nice because they have so much stuff it can get overwhelming to look at lol.
So it makes me sad to see people say that they feel like theyāre being followed when its probably just the employees going around meticulously organizing the store. These girls are so sweet. They go out of their way even on a busy day and the store is packed just to help me find something they arenāt even sure they have but they look anyways. Or go around the store to show me the new things they got in.
A few years back, some of Dotdotbangās stuff did look unofficial but now a majority of their anime merchandise is definitely official. Iām an avid collector so I know their prices are fair for a small business. Especially when they get hard to find merchandise like Sonny angels (they have the same price for them as amazon and other local stores), Ensemble Stars, and Nendoroids (pricey but if you go to conventions or other local stores in texas its the same price).
I never wrote a review before but I love this store and the girls that work here, so I dont think some of these reviews before mine are as informed as I am. Since Iām a regular to this mall and I donāt personally think merchandise thats over $20...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWill not be back⦠worst shopping experience ever! My friends and I stopped by because we seen such cute items displayed. When we walked in we were asked if we needed any help and I said āNo, we are just lookingā this employee proceeded to follow us around the ENTIRE store! If we went to the front, she followed! If we went to the back, she followed! My friends and I felt extremely uncomfortable but my friend wanted to test something out so she told us all to walk to another area of the store and sure enough, guess who followed? The employee that had been following us since we entered the store⦠when we were headed to the exit another employee had asked the employee who had been following us to check on something and I heard her whisper to the employee that asked her a question and then next thing I know, the other employee was also eyeing us!! I canāt stand to shop in atmospheres like this⦠I would have loved to buy a blind box or figures but not after the experience I was having, we were so uncomfortable that we left without even making a purchase. If you love being followed around, then you will...
