I recently purchased an engagement ring for my soon to be fiancé and from Marc Samuels and had a fantastic experience. I am not one to post reviews, but I honestly felt very compelled to after my amazing experience with the Marc Samuels team.
Prior to coming to Marc Samuels I had purchased a loose diamond from the online diamond warehouse When I had initially came into the store I only needed a band for the diamond that I had already purchased.
In honesty I am by no means a diamond expert and as such I found myself in a situation where I felt at the mercy of the Price, selling source and my limited knowledge. An individual named Murad immediately offered his help and expertise to confirm that the diamond I had already purchased was purchased at a “good” price. I was extremely appreciative of this help and was so happy to know that I had a great diamond for the price I paid. Murad took some time to evaluate the diamond I had already purchased and asked me if I was interested in seeing some other options that he had available within the same price range. Hoping for the proverbial “greener grass” I obviously said yes and the team was excited to help assist me with finding something even better.
Murad had introduced me to his co worker Coco who was able to show me the key differences between the two diamonds that were being considered without making me feel pressured to make a decision that I would have otherwise been uncomfortable with. She focused her attention on giving me the facts about both diamonds and let me make the decision that made the most sense for me which I really appreciated.
Furthermore, Murad was able to manage my budget expectations and was able to fit the perfect engagement ring to my budget.
The staff (Notably Murad and Coco) were not only able help me find the perfect band for the diamond I had, but were also able to upgrade the diamond I had already purchased (1.5ct) for a significantly better diamond (1.85ct) while still keeping me within my budget.
Murad and Coco were both extremely helpful and knowledgeable when explaining the best “bang for my buck” when looking at a diamond which made me a lot more comfortable with this already large purchase.
Buying an engagement ring is already stressful for most guys because it generally coincides with the preparing of the perfect proposal and the added stress of “will she say yes” and “will it be perfect”. Murad and CoCo went above and beyond in helping me and I cannot thank them enough.
Thanks you guys for...
Read moreIf it were possible to rate lower than one star I would. For over a month we tried to get our engagement ring at this location. We had already had a ring we previously purchased here, and we simply wanted the stone upgraded. My then boyfriend took that ring into the store early in November. Marc Samuels continued to tell my boyfriend that there "was a problem at the jewelers" when in fact they have a jewler in house. Mid November, two days before we left for my birthday trip out of state, he went into the store saying he needed something even if it wasn't our original ring to propose with explaining his engagement plans out of town. To this day we still don't know what took them so long to upgrade our main stone. What they gave him to propose with was a 5ct CZ (not even the same cut as the original stone we had) set in a prong setting that was clearly not straight. They assured him that as soon as we got back in town they would right this wrong. After multiple promises, and 5-7 trips to and from this store we still do not have what we wanted. Not only was the setting not ever done correctly, the band from the original ring we bought several months prior, somehow got bent while with the jeweler. Murad the owner was incredibly rude throughout the entire process. The woman who helped us, as I was crying over how terribly they had messed up our ring and the excitement of our engagement, told me to just delete my social media post from the ring he originally proposed with and repost our new, still crooked, ring. In her opinion noone would notice my ring going from a 5ct radiant cut to a 2ct emerald. We eventually accepted the offer to get our money back for the ring and bought elsewhere. The same woman told us "we have tried to bend over backwards to accomedate your needs" while my still crooked ring sat in the box as we waited to get our money back. We also had to argue that we would not pay the restocking fee after the huge mess they had caused. They wanted us to pay 25% to them for the work they did even though they had ruined our ring. The one and only person at the store that I think is worth anything is Tom. I highly suggest taking your...
Read moreUpdate 2: Tom reached out to me afterwards and offered to correct the sizing of my rings. I was quoted two weeks, possibly longer, but it ended up arriving earlier than expected.
In the end, I was thoroughly impressed by Tom's professionalism and earnestness to ensure his customers are completely satisfied with their purchase.
Update: I had to send my ring back to resized the same day I went in to pick it up because my size change request was never communicated with the ring manufacturer. There ring had not been cast yet when I first contacted them about the size change. Tom acknowledged this and said that they would cover the costs to get my ring sized correctly. It would take two additional weeks, but they would call me once it's back in. Mistakes happen, so it's not a big deal.
Two weeks turn into over a month without a call, so I call them. The sales lady who picks up the phone said that they're too busy to check but she'll call me back in an hour. No call. I call them back the next day, and the salesman tells me that they got the ring back and apologizes that I wasn't contacted.
When I pick up the ring, it doesn't feel like it's been resized at all, but Tom brushed it off when I asked to check the size stating that my new rings are going to feel tighter because the band is wider than my original set. It's wider than my wedding band, but not my original engagement ring.
I went ahead and got the sizing checked by a couple of other jewelers who confirmed that the ring was still the original, incorrect size.
In all fairness, if my ring wasn't a Verragio ring then there likely wouldn't have been an issue since they could fix that in house. The sizing isn't a big difference, and I'm still able to wear the set (with a little bit of difficulty taking it off). Still, this experience left a sour taste in my mouth.
Original: The staff was friendly, and Tom was very patient while I selected my jewelry. I would definitely...
