Ramen Hakata is easily my favorite go-to spot in Frisco. I’ve been coming here with friends, well over 20 times across the past few years, and it still never gets old. The team behind the counter clearly knows how to deliver consistently excellent food and service night after night.
My go to order: (N19) Spicy Mazemen (with any choice of protein) almost every single time. The bowl is literally a perfect balance of umami-packed noodles and the tofu soaks up the flavors beautifully. It’s the kind of dish that keeps you coming back because it’s familiar but layered; every visit rewards the same craving in a reliably satisfying way.
Service here is another big reason I keep returning. The staff are fast, attentive, and unfazed when we show up as a group. They take groups of 8+ with ease, which has saved many weekend plans for us. Picture of a group of 10 for proof :). Even if we’re in a rush or lingering over conversation, the servers understand and respond with the perfect pace. Seating is well arranged as well, it's flexible enough for anything from a two-person dinner to a big friend table. We’ve always been able to get seated together without awkward splitting or waiting forever.
Starters at Ramen Hakata also deserve a special shout-out. Every one we’ve ordered has been thoughtful, generously portioned, and absolutely worth the price. The Takoyaki is to die for. On multiple visits we’ve shared a few starters and then immediately regretted not ordering doubles.
The atmosphere is warm and energetic in a way that feels friendly rather than touristy. Bowl portions are generous, pricing feels fair for the quality, and consistency is my favorite aspect. The same great food and the same service on visit number 2, 10, or 20. If you care about consistency, group-friendly seating, and starters that actually matter (rather than being afterthoughts like some other ramen places), then Hakata checks all the boxes.
In short: five stars. If you’re in the area and looking for fire noodles with dependable service and a spot that welcomes a large friend group, put Ramen Hakata at the top of your list. Highly...
Read moreOh boy, where do I even begin? A few days before our daughter's 16th birthday we decided to celebrate it at Hakata Ramen because she loves ramen and we knew they had a huge table as we were expecting to be a party of 12 so we called and made a reservation. We arrived the evening of her birthday with a small cake in hand and they said we could not bring the cake in. I told them that we all lived across different areas of Dallas and we all came together for dinner to celebrate her special day and it would be really nice to share a slice of cake with her but they weren't having it. We told them when we booked reservations that it was our daughter's birthday and they said nothing about not being able to bring a cake in. Had they done so, we would not have celebrated there. Onlookers were shocked. Everything from there was rush, rush, rush-we couldn't even take a breath. Our conversations were constantly interrupted with repeated questions. It was not a pleasant experience at all. Towards the end of our meal, a couple of the kiddos and myself holding my 4mo granddaughter walked over to the other end of the table to chat with some of the family and we were told rudely that we need to take our convo to the other side of the table to keep the isle clear for the wait staff. Mind you, aside from us, there were only a handful of other smaller tables. Every move we made was critiqued. After that some of the family brought in some balloons & gifts for the birthday girl to open before we part ways for the night and the look on the staff members' faces was sheer annoyance. Later on, they had the audacity to ask us if we were interested in dessert(Omgoodness!), all while our cake was sitting in their fridge. We shockingly declined. We will never EVER come back here. Hospitality is not existent here. And as someone who lived in Japan for 8yrs, is married to Japanese man and cooks Japanese food of her own, I can honestly say the food was mediocre at best. This is not reflective of true Japanese...
Read moreGood food with terrible service and servers! I think hygiene training needs to be applied to them. As well as customer service fundamentals!
But the owner / manager is really nice. ( She came to me and ask for what happened, she also offered me GC but I refused it) This review was 0 star, but she handled it well, so I give 3 stars ( still not perfect, but I am supposed to give 1 star)
I am not Karen or Carl, I am just a regular person with business.
I love the food, but it is unforgivable that they did not bring spoon with my ramen , but there is a spoon with the pen when I signed the tips (I tipped well, tho)
After I told one of them that I did not have spoon when I got the bill and gave them the CC, they brought a pen attached to a spoon with receipt, and left....... I thought they tried to make fun of me, but realized this is their tradition. I made the total 22.01, it was not even busy at 2:30 pm, but I don't think they welcome me.
Bad service, First of all, the very first waitress came to me without greeting when I went in ( I am okay with it, I am not charming, I don't expect her anything). She said very simple sentence: go to the bar!, And then left. I am a regular customer, and I prefer a table, so I did not go and wait for the next hostess.
After I ordered the Ramen Hakatta, the waiter brought a bowl by grabbing inside of the bowl by his finger, that made me so uncomfortable. When he brought me the ramen, his thumb was in the soup. I will show ya how they grab the empty bowl and ramen. After told the other waitress, they took my food, and brought a new one in 30 seconds, which is quick but also meant nothing changed. Also, I ordered beer, they did not check ID ( this could maker serious problem to the waitress if I were younger than 21 )
All in one, good food, I never disappointed by the food, but if they ignore the service and dont make customers welcome, one day, they will pay for that.
I will not be back anytime soon, even they are my favorite...
