Honestly speaking I don’t think I’ll shop at another Ulta because of the poor customer service. After working many customer service jobs, I now understand the importance of acknowledging and trying to help customers, but I was never greeted or acknowledged the whole time I was shopping. It’s practically Walmart level of customer service, which isn’t what I expect at a makeup store.
I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but maybe some eyeshadows for some upcoming events and a lot of the selves were empty and the display cases weren’t clean. I’m not upset that product wasn’t there, products sell out, but it was the fact the display cases/testers were so nasty. On top of that this place never seems to have any makeup remover/wipes to clean up the tester products. I think the worst part was when I was clearly standing in front of one of the display cases looking at products on that shelf and one of the associates who was helping another customer went over to the exact place I was and never said excuse me or acknowledge I was even there. Because of that I just moved out the way because she was trying to look where I was standing and apparently thought I was invisible or something. Honestly I shouldn’t have bought anything, but I still wanted some nice products.
Long story short I wouldn’t bother shopping here, especially if your Black because this seems to be a common issue of ignoring Black people and rushing to help White people. I walk in no acknowledgement, an older White guy walks in he gets acknowledged. I walk through the perfumes, no associate is there, that same guys walks through the perfumes someone is there to assist him. The same thing happen to my mom a few years ago at the same location. The cashier was the nicer part about the whole experience. Maybe I’ll shop at Sephora next time, I tend to have better...
Read moreI will never be returning to this store again. I could not find anyone to help me. The two ladies at the front couldn't be bothered to pause their conversation to assist me. I asked for help with perfume and one of the women asked over the walkie talkie for someone to help " a man" with some perfume. I was born a woman and identify as such. I was also wearing women's clothing. If she was really that confused by my gender she could have said that a customer needs assistance with the perfume. She even hesitated before referring to me as a man so she clearly had time to think about it. Nobody came to help me and the woman she was speaking with walked me over to the perfume and told me I could spray it on a napkin to smell it then left. I couldn't help but notice the same woman that told me to spray the perfume on a napkin was providing amazing customer service to another young man in the store. I wondered why I did not get the same treatment but just decided to leave. I got in line and waited my turn and the same woman that was no help whatsoever with the perfume skipped me in line. When I told her I was next in line she said she was helping the man behind me and that someone else would ring me up. I have worked retail for years and never has it been acceptable to skip someone in line to ring someone else up that you were helping on the floor. He could have waited for her. If it was about commission she could have told the next cashier she was helping him. I left the store near tears and will never be returning again. When I wrote to corporate to let them know about my experience they basically...
Read moreI had an okay experience at this Ulta. The lady that did my hair was nice and accommodating. I was not satisfied with the layering, so she worked on it a little more. I told her several times that I always straighten my hair, and it took her seeing me upset, to finally go through and straighten it. When she finished, I was pretty satisfied except for how short my bangs and the length came out to be- much shorter than I had asked. I went to checkout, and they charged me $56 instead of $36, and when I asked, they said it was because they had different levels of stylist. I have been to several Ultas before and wasn't aware of this; I really hadn't anticipated or couldn't financially afford $20 over the price I was used to at this time. I told them this and asked why no one told me they were unlike other Ultas and had different levels with different prices. Not being completely satisfied and used to playing about $65 for both cut and color back home, I was pretty upset. They discounted me 20% so it was only about $10 more than what I would've paid. I would just be aware when you go to the Ulta off Preston in Frisco that they have different levels. If I could afford just not to worry about money, I would definitely ask for the higher level because they probably have more experience and do a better overall job, but I usually go to Ulta because it's a cheaper option. It is nice that they offer different levels; I just wish they would tell you this, so people who are planning to pay a certain price know...
