Frequent visitor to Buckboard Too! and this morning made for the second unsatisfactory experience. I'm unsure if its a husband and wife ownership but my first experience the woman, who seemed like a manager, lacked people skills. I asked her if they stocked additional merchandise in regards to many of the themes they have. She wanted nothing to do with the question and made me feel very unwelcome. A great experience to have when you just moved to Gatlinburg.
Second time was this morning going in to purchase a birthday present. It was a gift I knew my fiance would love and knew that the Buckboard had it. Unfortunately, the packaging was coming apart and I'm limited on time. All of the items were like it. At check out I asked if there could be a small percentage taken off. $3 off of a $35 toy is all I asked. He went on to explain that it wasn't their fault that the packaging was destroyed. I gathered that. That he wishes there was something that he could do was repeated continuously. He could have and decided not too. I'm disappointed in their customer service. He also called me a liar all because I could not wear a mask due to medical. Four separate employees approached and politely asked and I explained. They were nice and said ok. When I got to the register the guy asked me about it and I explained again and he just didn’t care and straight called me a liar. I told him the other employees said it was fine and he called me a liar and basically insinuated I could not read. It’s a shame really he has no clue about HIPPA and civil rights laws. One day he will get the wrong person and they will sue. Would not recommend this place due to the abhorrent treatment of customers and the power trip...
Read moreThey need to be very careful who they allow on their property. Was there on vacation, Minnie Mouse & Paw Patrol characters were outside their shop. Decided to stop & take s picture for my niece and nephew. some drunk guy was with them & kept making the comment several times in a unprofessional & demanding way, “they work for tips” well if they work for tips I choose whether to tip them. Anyway, after a couple rude comments my husband gave him a tip just to shut him up & the drunk guy was like, “well she took more than one picture”, I only had time to take one picture before the guy became belligerent. I mean really! & the best part was Minnie Mouse got involved to, a sweet character such as Minnie. Unbelievable! So we never actually made it...
