Mountain Edge Grill — Restaurant in Gatlinburg

Just left lunch here and am actually writing a review in the car! It’s a very rainy fall day in the mountains and we’re hoping for some cozy and genuinely GOOD food and we found it! We’ve actually been coming here for years but I used to be to lazy to write reviews. Actually I still am but it’s a business that deserves it! This place is a gem! Homey cozy decor with a classic mountain grill and bar vibe. The owner Brandon waited on our table and was kind and friendly! Every single thing we ordered was delicious! We had the mount Leconte sandwich which has perfect slightly buttered and toasted bread, a baked potato with a cup of their signature white chicken chili which had just the right amount of spice, and a kid cheeseburger and French fries which put most adult burgers I’ve had to shame! We ate here for the first time and were very disappointed in how they do things from the start! When we walked in there were two large groups waiting to eat and we noticed there is a board you write down your name and how many in the party on. We waited and waited and servers kept walking by no one would acknowledge that anyone was there wouldn’t say a word like maybe we will be with you shortly or anything! We watched two groups of 6 leave and a few couples walk in and left because they don’t pay anyone any attention until they feel like seating someone! There were several dirty tables that hadn’t been cleaned off since before we got there. We were about to walk out when a guy decided to seat us! The food was ok but service how they do things is very bad! The dirty tables were still dirty when we left no one ever came and clean them off! I have never had a bad experience at a restaurant until we went here. They told us the wait would only be 15 minutes which turned out to be closer to 30, they were not busy at all they only had two other families eating. There was a man and woman working both walking around busy talking and not doing their jobs. We even seen them outside walking at one point! The food prices were several dollars higher than the online price and definitely not worth it! Very plain generic food for what you pay. We never once got refills on our drinks and they forgot our appetizers. I can understand that if they was busy but they were not busy at all! We went to pay for our outrageous bill and the woman working was very rude and even rolled her eyes at us! I do not recommend this place at all, horrible customer service and plain food!
