Yes we were there during the arctic freeze over Christmas 2022 and totally understand how that affects things & we did EVERYTHING we were told to do to help the situation. But, we stayed in Majestic view, and had heat issues as well as a critter in the wall. We could not keep the cabin warm until the last night we were there. The gas fireplace stopped working on Christmas Day and when I called the people that take care of the property I was given an attitude about it. Now I understand I had called them multiple times up until that point due to the heat and I understand it was Christmas Day, but the attitude was not necessary! When the husband came over to help us with the heat we showed him ALL places cold air was coming into the cabin from and about the critter(to which they had us turn on this box thing that was supposed to repel the critter), which didn’t work! I said all that to say this, I called today to ask for at least a nights refund for the issues we had and I was treated with total disrespect and the man who answered the phone(also the same man who we showed everything to), told me that there would be no refund, the cabin was solid, and there was no critter and informed me that “not even Jesus Christ could please us”. He was extremely rude and hung up on me. I only had their number to call and only called when we started having issues with the heat, the critter & when the gas fireplace stopped working. I will NEVER stay with Poplar Ridge again and I will make sure everyone I know, knows about our experience. I don’t know anything about any of the other cabins through them but this was our experience with majestic view. That cabin and the (I’m assuming property managers) have ruined us from ever...
Read moreAmazing and affordable, true to my heart. I have visited twice, staying in Springtime Retreat and Autumn Mist. This is my go-to cabin place when I visit the Smokies. The 2-bedroom cabins named after the seasons include everything you could ever want! Hot tub, private 2-person jacuzzi room with views off the king room, cute queen second bedroom, full kitchen with dinette table for meals, nice furniture, laundry in a big bathroom, relaxing living room with couch and lounger AND a fire place. PLUS deck with a great little mountain view/city lights at night, nice big hot tub and a swing lounge chair. BONUS: this place is within walking distance to Downtown Gatlinburg, but you get a sense of seclusion, which is rare for DT Gatlinburg and great view from above, on a little mountainside. The owners are very kind and friendly and the prices are phenomenal! BEST CABIN DEAL IN THE AREA!!! These are honest sweet folks helping people have great vacations. Very cozy and warm place!
Tip: January and February are great months to visit for the budget-minded. Rentals are priced at low season and the Downtown strip is still quite busy but not overwhelmingly packed, faster lines everywhere from attractions to dining, just a great time to go.
ANOTHER Tip: The cabins are so wonderful, make sure to simply enjoy a night in, cook some fun extravagant meal instead of eating out, play it up to the heart's desire and still save a decent amount of money!
ONE MORE Tip: Check the current specials for the best deals! Again, the prices...
Read moreStayed at Aunt Boos cabin the weekend of August 19, 2016. Having paid $276.25 for 2 nights, should be able to expect better! Bath and Kitchen towels had holes, frayed, and ragged. The carpeting in both bedrooms haven't been cleaned in a long while - were dirty and stained. Light bulbs were burned out both inside and outside. Only 1 of 3 porch lights was lit, but all of the fixtures had more than an inch of dead bugs in them. I bought a light bulb so we could see our door at night on the porch. The oven broiler doesn't work and only one side of the toaster worked. The doormat just inside the front door was so old, that there was no rubber backing to hold it to the floor, so you just slid on it - really great during rain! The mattress in one bedroom was old and lumpy, and you would roll toward the center. While simple housekeeping issues are obviously ignored, it's long overdue for new furnishings and fixtures. The cabin's only sofa has a board under the cushions holding it together. I wrote the owners on August 22nd and never received a response. Never had this experience with any other cabin rental in Gatlinburg. Will...
