Full disclosure, we chose not to stay here after viewing several rooms!
We did book through hotels.com and we were actually told by them that I should not be reviewing this hotel if I chose not to stay there! My opinion on the other hand is these are the reviews that people need to see. I’m sorry it hurts the business to air the truth , but at some point, you need to realize that you need to step up to the plate and fix these issues. You can’t just put lipstick on a pig! This place is a cute design and the design is not comparable to anything else in the area which I liked however the cleanliness is lacking! Whoever your cleaning staff is should be fired because they are lazy! There were so many obvious things, that you can see, they don’t care about! Who puts dirty sheets on a bed or who fails to change the bedding. There was a throw pillow. I didn’t even put a picture of on here that looked like it had dog hair all over it and was sitting on the bed. There was another room where there was hairon the pillows and at the top of the bed where somebody had laid. I found boogers and possible vomit stains on your sheets. That’s without discussing the dirty spots on the carpeting and mold in the bathroom, not to mention the fact that a couple of your AC units smelled like somebody had urinated inside of them when we turned them on upon entering the room before inspecting the bed.
My advice to anyone that wants to stay in any hotel is never bring your luggage inside until you have inspected the room! Always inspect the room! Look under the pillowcases look under the blankets. It’s pretty disgusting things, but you may regret not looking. A lot of things like bedbugs and German cockroaches or something you do not want to take home as a souvenir!
Also, this hotel is extremely difficult to get a hold of by dialing the number that’s included on Google so I did include a photo of the sign. They have in their office for additional phone numbers. In case you wish to stay there and are unable to get a hold of the main line. You could probably try those numbers.
For further information, it does say something on that sign about ATV rental. However, the person at the desk has no idea what you’re talking about if you ask when you see the sign. . so don’t even bother! Just about any place you rent an ATV or side-by-side vehicle in the area is going to be the same price. No use searching around for...
Read moreBooked last minute Sept 19th 2023 for a weekend trip for my fiancée and I (9/22-24). We’re pretty low maintenance and have stayed at a wide spectrum of lodging accommodations. At check in, I was informed that with new management they had only been open for 2 weeks and while the lobby definitely shows that they’re still finding their footing, the effort is there. Once checked in, we were escorted and personally shown to our room for the night by the young man at the front desk. He made sure everything was to our liking and asked if he could do or get us anything else. It made the experience from the beginning very personal and like we were in good hands. The room itself was spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were the comfiest I think we’ve ever experienced. We had planned to wake up early and get a head start but that bed had us glued in until the early afternoon because it was so cozy. The motel itself shows it’s age with the AC unit in the back and even the light switches in the bathroom but it felt intriguing and like we were kind of taken back to before the parkway was built up and families were still flocking to vacation there. We walked down to the main area on Saturday night and it was a short 5-10 minute walk. Stopped back by the front desk to ask for more toilet paper and the nice young man from the night before immediately ran to grab it. During the whole duration we felt safe and and clean and happy with our choice in staying at Timber Ridge. Very accommodating and affordable for an early Fall stay and we’re looking forward to seeing them continue to grow and beautify their little spot in Gatlinburg.
Also - the young man who worked that weekend, I believe his name started with a J. He was absolutely phenomenal and you can tell he has an amazing work ethic and while it was only his first week, he was so focused on making sure everyone they stopped by or checked in/out enjoyed their stay and wanted to do anything in his power to make the stay more comfortable. I’ve stayed at some of the nicest, most expensive hotels and still wasn’t able to experience the level of guest relations that this gentleman expressed. Absolutely impressed and he was possibly our favorite part of staying here. The management team should be very proud of him!!...
Read moreMy wife and her brother went to Gatlinburg on 5/27/25 and upon arrival (around 4:15ish) they saw that there was no one at the front desk and a note on the front door that said “Associate momentarily stepped away please call the numbers below for room or tub inquiries.”with 2 numbers to call. They called upon arrival with no answer so they waited for at least an hour and called a couple more times with again no answer. They start talking to a couple that were staying at the establishment who was able to get the manager to finally answer. The manager the proceeds to say that she has been trying to call them and that she just put their key in the box 30 minutes ago which was a lie due to them sitting there for over an hour without any signs of life. While on the phone listening to the manager lie about trying to contact them and getting their key ready my wife calls the manager out on her lies to which the manager replies “yall can just find somewhere else to stay.” After this my wife and the tenant that was helping them walked off. The manager tell my brother in law the code for the key box to which he tells her the code doesn’t work so she calls the maintenance guy that takes another 20 minutes to get down to fix the problem. He brings the key to them but it’s for a completely different room (But the original key was already made up). At this point my wife went next door to check on getting a room at Sleep Inn and Suites. They go through all that just to get into the room and it be dirty. Everything was dusty and not wiped down. The bathroom was dirty and had been used so they decided they’ve had enough and left. They asked the maintenance guy about getting a refund and was told there were no refunds given. So now they are out almost $500 and was only in the room 10 minutes. Poor business practices and robbery I wonder if the owners Julie Duckles and Brian Duckles are ok with how their business is being operated.
Side note- The couple that helped my wife and brother in law had the police called on them because they weren’t out when they were supposed to be. The couple said they tried to call the manager about staying another night but again she...
