I could give this place ZERO STARS I would. My husband and I booked this place for our anniversary last week, and play and I'm staying for 4 days Sunday through Thursday. When we arrived, we were told that we had two rooms booked when we only had one. We were lucky enough to have them cancel the second room given that I had confirmation that we only had one foot. Without that they probably would have charged us for both rooms. Once we got through checkout, we went to our room and immediately noticed how dark it was. You had to leave the window open in order to have much light given that the only light in the room was around the corner by the bathroom. We took our daughter inside, and immediately noticed a short black hair from God knows what part of the body located on one of the beds. I moved my daughter over to a small bench that was located in the room so that I can use the bathroom after having driven 12 hours to get to the hotel, and I was HORRIFIED. The shower floor was covered in paint and some other unidentifiable dirt, the bathroom floor was dirty and head hair all along the grout, the towels near the sink had more hair on them, it was very VERY clear that this room had not actually been cleaned prior to our check-in. After shedsing a few teara (it had been a long day already), we booked another hotel, packed up our stuff and want to check out. When my husband explained the situation to him, we were only refunded for the days that we did not stay, not for that first day. I understand that that is the typical policy, but given the state of the room I think we should have been refunded for the entire visit. While this place is listed at a good price, it definitely was not worth it especially having A SMALL CHILD...

Anyway, I stayed in a two bed room for several nights and I have absolutely no complaints. Yes, it is a no frills room. No breakfast or anything. However, I didn't come to Gatlinburg to stay in my room the whole time. I had to check in super late at 1 in the morning, but I'd called ahead and was told it would be fine. When I got there, check-in was simple, and the staff were friendly. Everything was clean and comfortable. I'm extremely thorough and literally strip the beds and pillows all the way down and check with a light. I didn't notice any weird smells, and I was worried about that given some other reviews. My bathroom was also clean. I like my room cold and the ac did its job. I requested extra pillows and towels. They were provided with no problems. My do not disturb sign worked fine. The location is awesome. You can take the trolly to a lot of places and you can walk to several places as well. In the course of my trip, I was traveling across the country and back. I stayed at very expensive hotels and not so expensive hotels/ motels. What I'm saying is I definitely got to see the current (sad) state of the hospitality industry across the U.S.. This place was literally the overall best, no joke. One day, I'll visit again, and this will be where I stay. Also, I am a real person, not a bot, and no, I don't know the people who work there. If you want to spend a ton of money on the other places, go ahead... but this place really is the best. Also, I would check online to see if there are deals. I paid $58 a night...
Read moreWe had four people, three nights. You get what you pay for, but most of that is going for location. The motel is within walking distance of the main drag for Gatlinburg; it's a small hike up a hill when you're coming back, so if you're exhausted from the day or have mobility issues keep that in mind. Otherwise it's certainly worth it to avoid heavy traffic and costly parking. It's also far enough away to be quiet, and you have a pretty easy escape route to Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains, even in heavy traffic, when you're ready for something other than Gatlinburg. So if you just want a place to store your stuff and crash at night, while your primary goals are out and about in the city and surrounding nature, then this isn't a terrible choice... but manage your expectations. The beds are very hard, the pillows are extremely thin (helps it you fold them in half or thirds). The room had a heavy cologne scent when we first walked in but by the second day it was apparent this was to mask the musty odor in the room. Our only real issue was a towel situation. We had four people but there were only three towels. When we asked for more it got a little awkward; possibly due to a language barrier but we were begrudgingly given some extras, but by the third night we were back down to three and just dealt with it. Overall we have no regrets staying here and the price was fine for what we wanted; but I think next time we might splurge on...
