Part 1: What a mess. Upon ariving even though there was very little snow on the grass the driveway was not free of snow and ice. We slid into the carport. Not the best start but we warned the rest of the family to be careful and thought no big deal. The cabin was pretty but much smaller than the pictures indicate. It was also filthy. Tub upstairs had a dirt ring and no cleaning supplies are provided to clean. I was disappointed a nice hot soak would have been great but since the tub was filthy i decided on a shower. I almost broke my neck! The drain stopper was nothing more than a plastic disk that isnt secured down and extremely slippery! I slipped on it and hit my face. All of the showers are terrible from to small for me (upstairs master) ( I'm 5' 125lbs ) to no water pressure (basement bathroom). As well as dust on almost every surface. The heating vent in the master bedroom is black with dirt as well as cobwebs in windows. Speaking of windows EVERY window was spotted with dirt and finger prints. We were not made aware that there is no heat in the bottom level. With the negative temperature it was too cold to enjoy that area of the cabin. Day two we decided to get groceries some supplies and hang out at the cabin we were all tired from long drives. Day three we woke up to snow and no way down the mountian. We called the property management company to see when the roads would be clear we were told they didn't know and that since it "doesn't snow in the great smokey mountians often they weren't prepared for it" (really it doesn't snow in Tennessee that's news to me). We were stuck for 3 days! We ran out of food drinks and toilet paper! All of that might not have been so bad had the internet and cable been working properly! The cable went out every 30ish minutes and the internet wouldn't even load a Facebook page. My sister lost 3 days of work and may be in serious trouble with her boss (one of the selling points for this cabin was the amazing internet access so that she could still work and my nephew could still do his school work ) We called everyday to see when we would be able to safely make it down the mountain (we had bought tickets to local attraction that went mostly unused) and was told they didn't know to call 911 if there was an emergency we had explained that my husband needed his diabetic medication that we had planned on getting from a local pharmacy (we didn't have time to get it before we left Ohio but had made the arrangements to pick it up there) by the time we were able to safely get it my husband was sick and spent the last two days of our vacation recovering. He was also left with a rash covering his body from the chest down, urgent care said it's chlorine rash and asked if he spent anytime in pools or hot tubs, we did notice a strong chlorine smell when getting in the hot tub but figured it was normal, but seeing as how nothing else was cleaned before our arrival I have to assume that instead of draining the hottub between guests it simply gets extra chemicals. I've never been so happy to leave a vacation (in reality not a vacation but a celebration of life for my brother who passed away suddenly in November) When preparing to leave we gathered towels and bedding. I'm so glad I didn't see the condition of the pillows and mattress on day one because we would not have stayed one night. Not all the beds had mattress protector and they were covered in pee stains the pillows were dirty aswell. What make all if these problems worse to me is that we didn't see the property management company until the day before our departure when they decided to finally come salt the roads so we could leave.( we had already gone out and cleared the driveway (with brooms and dustpans ourselves) see second part...
Read moreWe booked for our much-anticipated annual family vacation, saving & planning for months to make the most of our time together. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected & we hope that by sharing our experience we save another family the heartache of a vacation spoiled.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by substantial cleanliness issues: dead bugs on the floors & in window ledges, sticky, dirty rugs, and the primary bathroom / bedroom appeared to have not been cleaned whatsoever. The comforter & a throw pillow on the master bed had a crusty substance on them, the bathroom sink was covered in water spots, the hand towel was visibly dirty, and there was even a dirty bandaid in the garbage can. 🤢
The water throughout the entire home has a STRONG sulfur odor. This was particularly challenging for our family, as our daughter has high sensory needs. When the water turns on even for a moment, it fills the entire home with the smell of rotten eggs. We had to purchase bottled water for drinking & teeth brushing, bags of ice, & even shower wipes to manage basic hygiene.
Light is a huge problem in the primary bedroom - the blackout shades were improperly measured, resulting in sunlight flooding the primary bed at sunrise. My husband had to go to Walmart for a throw blanket & command hooks to rig a curtain just so we could sleep past 6am.
We were aware that the home had close proximity to a road, but we weren't aware that you cannot raise the blinds in the primary bedroom or living room unless you want to make eye contact with every car that drives by, or how busy it is with recreational (loud) vehicles at all hours of the night. Additionally, the front door has windows that are uncovered, which during the day means the glare from the silver guardrail pierces down the hall and directly onto the primary bed & at night the headlights shine directly in every single time a car passes by.
There is a homeless tent encampment directly across the street about 20' back from the road. They did not bother us in any way, but it was an unexpected element that we believe should have been disclosed.
To add to our challenges, the outdoor garbage bins were overflowing upon our arrival, & although the team responded quickly to my message it took multiple follow ups and a full 24 hours before they were finally emptied.
Despite these issues, we did our best to make the best of our unexpected "indoor camping" experience. We hope this feedback prompts improvements & better communication for...
Read moreDowntown Nashville Riverfront Apartment........Upon arriving we were a little concerned with the location, there is quite a bit of construction directly across from the apartments. You could hear the construction noise in the bedroom closest to the apartment door. I was concerned about the noise waking us up, thank goodness we arrived on a Friday and Sat. I was not aware this was an apartment, the description says home a couple times, had I known we would have looked to be on the 3rd floor. We had people above us and were woken up to heavy foot steps at 1am in the morning that lasted about an hr and then again at 8am, luckily they checked out later that morning and no one else checked in during our stay.
Apartment is nice and cozy inside. Parking is covered which is very nice on rainy days. It rained really hard one of the nights we were out and super thankful for the covered parking. The photos posted are very accurate, the deck is small but nice to be able to step out and see the barges float by or enjoy a cup of coffee. Loved the fire place, we definitely used it several times and puts out decent heat. Beds are super comfy, only wish there were extra pillows in the bedroom closest to the entrance, my son was use to thicker pillows so his neck was a bit sore. We stayed end of Dec. 2024 so chilly, wish there were also extra throw blankets to put on the beds. TVs are smart TVs we had access to watching the football games and YouTube TV was available, of course you can sign into other apps just make sure to sign out before you leave. Kitchen had several spices available to use as well as olive oil and pan spray, stocked with sugar, creamer and plenty of coffee, had tinfoil and ziplock bags. Some of the pots and pans could be replaced, the big skillet handle is very loose and the teflon beat up on several of them. There is no room for a dining table so the bar is where you eat your meals, bar chairs could be better, we both have back issues so they are very uncomfortable to sit on, could use some sort of cushions. It was easy to get a Uber usually min away each time we ordered one. Ordered groceries from Instacart which was very convenient with a fast delivery, groceries arrived an hr and a half after ordering. Communication with company was easy with quick responds to any questions we had. I would recommend this place and would stay here again as long as we were on...
