Bev's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Glen Ellyn

Most Hallmark stores are pretty much the same, but NOT Bev's Hallmark!! That store stands out above them all!! Surely it's worth the extra distance I have to go to get there. I always find what I need but I end up with so much more.. beyond the merchandise. The owner, Julie, and her entire dedicated staff, are always so caring.. and they are determined to make sure you feel welcome and assisted!! Every time I go, I leave feeling so grateful for the experience of interacting with such friendly, compassionate people. I have difficulties walking with 2 canes and I struggle to carry things. Immediately, they take notice and attend to whatever my needs are!! They'll offer me a chair while I'm reading cards.. and they even carry my merchandise as they help me to my car!! Now you can't put a price tag on that type of "above and beyond" service.. because it's a priceless experience!! God bless them! I recommend you go see for yourself!! Tell 'em KIM...

As an ornament collector, I often spend quite a bit during the holidays. Sadly, one ornament this year wasn't up to snuff in terms of the quality of the paint (it was a gift and my partner was really disappointed), so I tried to return it. Unfortunately, I was completely shut down. Apparently they simply do not accept any returns for ornaments. And, that also includes any concerns about quality or workmanship.

There was no inquiry as to why I wanted to return the item or any interest; I was simply told that I cannot return the item. This is disappointing; I'd expect a Hallmark-branded shop to stand behind the quality of its items. It was even more disappointing to see that any attempt at customer service was virtually non-existent.

Fortunately I purchased the item with my Amex Platinum card and will be using their Return Protection coverage to get my money back. Caveat emptor; I will not be...

I want to thank the associate who called and left me a voice mail message. About two years ago I began a quest to find a "Legacy Cord" to power some of my older keepsake ornaments. The cord has long since been discontinued by Hallmark, but she was kind enough to leave me a message that during this time she has had no luck in finding one and offered me some suggestions as where to look on line to try and find one. In my book that's above and beyond service. Thank you....
