LOVELLA IS NOT PROVIDING ALTERATION SERVICES ON SITE!!!
I ultimately purchased my Martina Liana wedding gown from Lovella Bridal.
The consultant that was assigned to me was wonderful and helped me in and out of the gowns. I came in after having 2 appointments at 2 very different bridal shops and was super self conscious due to my size and experiences at the shops. I expressed my concern to the consultant and she reassured me that we would find something that 1. Fit and 2. Was my style. Sure enough after getting me in and out of multiple dresses, I found the one! The consultant was friendly, helpful, and really made the appointment. The consultant wanted to include a veil in the sale but I was unsure about the specifics of what I wanted and did not want to purchase an accessory on a whim of excitement after finding the dress. The consultant reassured me that I could make an accessories appointment after deciding specifically what I wanted.
Well... About a month later I decided on the type of veil that I'd like to purchase (as there are so many lengths and styles) but was unable to make an appointment because they were booked months in advance. I was encouraged to call on Mondays in case there was a cancellation for the week. Per my conversation with the consultant that helped me find my dress and the fact that she mentioned that it takes 4-5 months for a veil to come in, I decided to go elsewhere. Months later, I was notified via a text (before even receiving my dress) that due to unforeseen circumstances their alternations department would not be fulfilling any alteration needs that I may have. I was in shock as it is now one more thing that I need to worry about. Granted, they sent out a list of vendors that they recommend but as a bride with so many tasks at hand and working a full time job there is now an added stress factor now. I have to figure out the correct timing to take my dress to be altered and "interview" the people that they recommended to find the right fit to have my dress altered.
Lovella was very quick to set up an appointment to pick up my dress once it arrived. I was able to get an appointment the weekend after I received notification that the dress had arrived. I was surprised as I couldn't get an appointment for accessories 2 months prior. As I waited for my appointment, I heard an employee set up an alterations appointment with someone who had also just received her dress. Hhhmmmm so confusing. If I had known Lovella Bridal would not be doing my alterations I would have made my purchase from another bridal shop. There are many bridal shops with the same dresses in stock as Lovella Bridal. I decided to make the purchase based on the customer service as they hit it out of the park with that. I cannot express how important it is to have a service seen through from start to finish. I really thought that I would be 100% happy with this bridal shop but was completely let down. The wedding gown is such an important focal point on the day of the wedding and hope that my dress looks amazing on our day. I hope that this review helps future brides make their decision as I'm sure you won't be notified about alterations until after you make your purchase. It is not listed anywhere on their website and there are no comments on their social media. I noticed that comments were turned off on their IG page on the day that the notification was sent out. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only bride that has been...
Read moreGreat reviews, beautiful location to pick out a wedding dress, and great location for a fun dress shopping day with your loved ones. From start to finish, I had a great experience at Lovella Bridal. I did my research in advance and had a general idea of the style of dress I wanted, the budget I wanted to spend, and considered the wedding venue location/setting and the events throughout the day when picking out my wedding dress. I was first helped by Jenna during my first visit and she was absolutely a perfect fit as my stylist. She made me feel comfortable right away, did not pressure me into any dresses and made great suggestions on the type of dress to try on based on my inspiration photos and a description of what type of dress I was looking for and felt comfortable in.
The process was very organized and after I tried on about 5-6 dresses, I went back to my original "one" that I fell in love with right away. Jenna still recommended I try on other dresses to make sure I was absolutely sure, and I'm glad that she did because I was able to negate any doubts and felt confident about my choice. She was very informative, patient, and overall it felt like shopping with a friend. My best friend was with me during my initial visit and she also had a great experience. It felt private, not rushed, and most importantly, FUN. Because of this experience I decided to do my alterations at Lovella Bridal as well. My measurements were taken and the order was in, I shopped about 9 months before my wedding date.
A few months later after the dress arrived at the shop, Lovella contacted me and gave me a clear guideline and timeline on what to expect until my wedding day. We had 2 more fittings in-between for alterations and with my wedding shoes, and then a final one the week of the wedding to make sure everything was in tip top shape. Each time we visited Lovella we took advantage of the location and had a luncheon at the Brand at Americana (since we were coming from Orange County - almost 2 hours one way with traffic). It was THAT WORTH IT to get my dress at Lovella because the value, service, and expertise was unmatched.
The week of the wedding, during my final visit, they even recorded the bustle on my phone for me to give to my bridesmaids, and provided tons of tips making me feel at ease. Trust the Lovella stylists with your wedding dress, it's an important decision and Lovella is experienced, professional, and genuine throughout the...
Read moreAt Lovella, the gowns, I believe, range from about $3k-$15k. As someone who also tried on dresses in the $500-$2k range as well, I'm disappointed to say I couldn't feel a difference in the quality at all. If anything, I felt the dresses I tried on in the more affordable category, had more structure and higher quality fabrics. The gowns I tried on here at Lovella felt flimsy. Many of the samples were also dirty from brides constantly trying them on, which is an understandable happening, however I didn't notice this at the other stores I went to.
They also only have ONE size of every gown. As someone who is a street size 2-4, even I had to shimmy up some of the gowns. I could not imagine how disheartening of an experience it would be to come to this store and not having a single gown fit me because I don't fit that sizing. Other stores carried multiple sizes to support any bride who walked in.
My stylist was Shannon, and she asked me a few basic questions about the dresses and then went off to pull a few gowns. She started off with a wide range to hopefully narrow in. However, I felt like the feedback I gave wasn't heard. I do want to say this very well could be due to the inventory she was working with. Perhaps they just didn't have what I wanted. In particular though, I really didn't want a corset top, but almost every dress that was brought to me had the boning look of a corset. So when she asked for my feedback, all I could focus on was the corset and how I didn't want that.
Shannon was very persistent and was willing to continue to bring me dresses, but ultimately I called it as I didn't think we were making any progress. She was very kind and did everything right. I just didn't feel like this was the shop for me and couldn't fathom spending so much on a dress that just didn't feel worth the money.
Most of the gowns I tried on were Ines de Santo and Berta. According to their website, they also carry other designers as well, but from what was brought to me, I didn't see those. I also wish I had gotten the chance to walk around the showroom with Shannon to give her some more tangible ideas as to what was sticking out to me.
Regardless, it was an all-around okay experience. I would just caution anyone who is thinking of spending so much on their dress to at least try on dresses in the more affordable price range to ensure you are getting what you pay for in...
