To those of you that live in the greater Los Angeles area, "Eggslut" is well-known to many of the locals. It has been one of the top fast food breakfast places in Southern California as well as internationally in countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Japan, United Kingdom, and Kuwait. This happens to be the 2nd time I have been to one of their locations (with the first being at the Beverly Center back in October 2018). The location I am reviewing is adjacent to the Glendale Galleria shopping center in Glendale, CA.
Located directly on the corner of S. Brand Blvd. & E. Colorado St. in the heart of Glendale, this particular Eggslut has been in operation since 2017. Keep in mind that they do have limited hours being open from 8am-2pm but they are open 7 days a week for your convenience. Parking in this area can be a bit challenging as this is a very busy retail area with an abundance of restaurants nearby. Fortunately, I found paid parking only 1/2 block away as I arrived around 9:45am during the morning of Thursday 4/21/2022.
As I made my way inside, it actually wasn't too busy. However, a few minutes later, several large groups of people showed up so I guess you can say it was my lucky day. Their main food choices are breakfast sandwiches (all of which are filled with their cage free eggs) that come with a variety of fillings (bacon, steak, sausage, cheeses, veggies, & sauces) and a few sides such as hash browns & salads. I ended up ordering the "Bacon, Egg, & Cheese" sandwich which included hardwood smoked bacon, cage-free over medium eggs, cheddar cheese and chipotle ketchup in a warm brioche bun. I also added a side of hash browns.
Within a few short minutes, my sandwich and sides were ready! And one really cool thing is that they gave my +1 and I complimentary freshly squeezed orange juices! This was really awesome as the juice really accompanied our breakfast meals. One minor drawback of the sandwiches at Eggslut; they are definitely more on the salty side. Not a big deal but it is definitely something I wouldn't recommend eating on a daily basis. Otherwise, other than being a little bit on the messy side, the breakfast here is tasty and delicious.
Overall, I will continue to support this small business as the staff at this location was professional and courteous during my most recent experience. Above average food, excellent prices, and wonderful service are enough reasons to give this a respectable rating. My rating for the Glendale "Eggslut"; a...
Read moreI usually walk past this place because it's so crowded, but an overcast Saturday morning apparently spelled slow day for Eggslut, so I finally gave it a try. Slow day still meant about a 20 min wait between arriving and getting our food. We had to mill about awkwardly for a bit before a table opened up, then rush it quick before it was snapped up by any of the other dozen or so people waiting for a seat. There wasn't any outdoor seating, which was strange, as all the adjacent restaurants have it. I ordered a turkey sausage and egg sandwich, which came with mustard aoli and cheddar on a brioche bun. The bun didn't really live up to its name; it tasted like it was a day old piece of bread from the grocery store. The sausage tasted fine, but it was a little too heavily spiced. The cheddar was nice and melty, but the aoli was thick and overpowering. The main attraction for me was the egg, but I could barely taste it over the aoli, and the yolk was nowhere to be found until the last couple bites at the end (what kind of egg specialists can't center a yolk?). It wasn't worth the $7 it cost, in my opinion. Next door at Greenleaf is a far superior egg breakfast sandwich for $5.
On the positive side, there is nice skylighting here, if you're lucky enough...
Read moreI bought a sandwich today and I was waiting outside at one of the tables. I had my mask on and I wasn't touching anything except my phone. I was leaning on the bench, not even fully sat down and the employee at the register came out and pulled the table and the bench completely out from under me in the rudest way that I've ever been dealt with in my life. After he pulled the seat out from under me, he pulled the table away from me as well and then told me that I'm not allowed to sit there because of covid restrictions.
Keep in mind that the outdoor seating restrictions were lifted 5 days ago. I was not bothering anybody and I was following guidelines. Even if I were not following guidelines there was absolutely no reason anybody should pull a chair from underneath them and the table out from in front of them.
After I asked for a return, I got more attitude from him and he said that he was going to process the return even slower. Never in my life have I returned food before until today. I will never ever go to this place again. I'm going to tell everybody I know to never eat at this place or any of the...
