I was excited to visit the store for their Presidents day sale. I have never been to the store so I went to the online store to see what they had on sale before I went. The banner said that wall signs would be 90% off. I cleared my Sunday morning and drove an hour to get to the store. I even took screen shots of all the signs I was interested in purchasing (I was careful to choose all of the items that said they were in stock) at my store inorder to make it easier to find these signs. My husband and I got to the store at 11am and we went straight to the wall signs but none of the items that said they were 90% off were actually in stock and the few clearance signs that were available were marked 50% off. I stopped an associate and asked her where the signs that were 90% off were and I even showed her the online sale that said the items were available. She told me that they did not have any of those items and that most of the clearance stuff was picked over. As I was leaving the store I found a sign I saw online for 90% off but it was marked on sale for 50% off. Visiting At Home was such a waste of my time and I was disappointed that they were not willing to stand by the sale as advertised. I do not appreciate the bait and switch sale, so If I need any decor I will shop at Hobby Lobby because when they have a sale on their wall art it is an actual sale, not just a shady tactic to get you in the store.
Update - I did get a response from the owner but they obviously did not read my review or the store did not care enough to actually address the problem of advertising a sale online but when you get to the store, not having item listed as "in stock" or having the merchandise priced higher than the sale but not willing to honor advertised...
ย ย ย Read moreWhile shopping last evening with my elderly mother and my wife. We were purchasing a Christmas tree, a Christmas stocking and two Christmas coffee cups. This was our second time shopping At Home. our cashier was the sweetest person. She asked asked if we were members. We were honestly unsure. My wife entered her phone number. We were all surprised that she was a member. The cashier went on to explain that we were supposed to receive a free gift of Christmas balls.(I realize, for most that is a small thing, but for my mother, she was so excited that she started to tear up.) Then another employee (not sure who she was, but the way she spoke down to the cashier, she must be a supervisor) asked the cashier if we had an email with a code on it? My wife checked, no such luck. My mom didn't say anything. I know she was disappointed. I'm thankful that the cashier did save us money on our purchase. I think the other employee was rude, condescending and needs to know that the customers are why she is there in the first place. Hindsight, I should have just purchased the "free gift". I just wanted to get out of there,...
ย ย ย Read moreI would give this store a five star rating however, their is one particular employee with a very nasty, arrogant and snooty attitude. She tends to have a dismissive attitude towards her own kind. (African American individuals.) I've visited the store on several occasions and I always have an issue with the way this particular employee treats African Americans. Our money will spend just as well as those of the other race. On a more positive note the store has great merchandise and products but that one particular snooty employee/cashier makes shopping an unpleasant experience. I will be writing into the corporate office regarding this employee.
*Update, corporate office responded to review with this big grand professional response. However, upon reaching out to the email which was given my concerns were not addressed and to this day no one ever called the number I left to address this issue. If the corporate office could careless it clearly shows their employees won't care to show respect and appreciation either. * Shop here if you want to but they won't get another dollar of my hard...
