The sales person met us at the door. She asked us what we were shopping for and the price range. She immediately said we were not going to find anything there. Our stated budget for a sofa was $999. She casually walked us around pointing out the base models in the only fabrics that price range and wrote us off. She used lots of bid terms she thought made her look smart about fabrics.

What she didn't know. Never assume based on what someone is wearing. I was not wearing my rings or watch that day. I have never felt so snubbed or judged. She asked my daughter's budget. (She had recently graduated college and was furnishing her apartment). Casually asked what her major was. Obviously salary gauging. She did not know my budget. Fancy terms mean nothing and were wrong. You were talking to a Textile Engineer from NC State. The best Textile School in the World. Young person knew more about fabric and furniture than you. She openly shamed a competitor, Ashley Furniture. I have a dinette set from them 15 years old in great condition. The sofa my daughter purchased was made by Ashley. When we found the sofa on a website for a sale price the store couldn't match because it was so low, they graciously said she should save her $$ and buy it on line. they said the company was reputable.

When my husband and I downsize next year I will be shopping at Ashley Furniture in Greensboro.

If you are seeking quality items, friendly and knowledgeable staff, impeccable service, and delivery, Bassett Furniture is your place to go. From the moment you enter the store, you feel at home. I had the opportunity to meet Pam Buthman-Metten, the store manager. Pam introduced me to Cordelle Louis, my interior design consultant. I have purchased custom furniture in the past and I must say that Cordell‘s expertise and interior design talent is second to none. I purchased the Everette reclining sectional and the Wrenn reclining chair. Cordelle was extremely helpful with assisting me with my color choices, my leather choice and my fabric choices. The accent pillows came out great as well! The end result is a beautiful family great room that I am sure that my family and I will enjoy for many years to come. We are more than happy and thrilled with how great everything turned out. About 6 years ago we used a designer to purchase many pieces of furniture from Bassett. All excellent quality BTY. Still have everything and it all looks and feels like new! When we were there we met Curt. He was great to deal with. And even though we were there with our designer he spent time with us. Over the next few years we had been in a few times looking for different pieces. Somehow, Curt always remembered us. All of those visits, Bassett didn't have quite what we were looking for. Never the less, every time we went in Curt was there with a warm greeting! Recently, we were in need of an additional sofa and chair. We shopped all of the usual suspects. We didn't need quite as nice as we had purchased before. But we didn't want to waste money on some of the poor quality products that are on the market today. We stopped back in Bassett. Curt was there and as usual, even though he had not seen us in more than a year, he knew us and were glad to see us again! We explained our needs.
