This is the 2nd of two martins in my area where I have shopped. Thare are pro's and con's with this particular Martins. First one pro is they have a great selection of organic, natural, alternative, and vegan foods. They also have hot food and salad bar like many grocery stores. The other Martins in town has great sushi I haven't tried the sushi here and I am not sure if they carry the same selection of sushi but if you see sushi here I would recommend giving it a chance because if the sushi from the other martins is any indication of the quality of the sushi at this martins, then you most likely won't be disappointed. No, it is not Japanese restaurant quality, but its the best i've gotten from a grocery store and the rice they use it good and I enjoyed it. Now the cons. I was not happy with my check out process. I was in a rush to purchase baby food for my daughter and a peice of fruit for myself before work. The two checkout cashiers were occupied so i opted for swlf checkout. As usual the self checkouts started acting up and promted me to wait for assistance. The self-checkout cashier came up and starting attended to the machine and started checking my groceries against the rgister and was very slow about it which I found to be very rude and inconsiderate. I only had a couple items and it wasnt that hard to see everything was rung up. I have to assume she had issues recognizing cues because she did not seem to care at all that I was in a hurry. I told her I just wanted to pay for my items and I would leave behind the reat because I didnt want to be late for work, but her pace remaind the same. Needless to say I will be AVOIDING this location. Also, while I was shopping I asked someone where th ababy food was and they told me the wrong isle. Customer service is lacking...

Refrigerated items, I have bought expired items off the shelf several times & also non-refrigerated items. Meats are a whole separate issue. Iâm not sure what the problem is as I am just a (now infrequent) customer, but I believe there is bad quality control in proper temperature control in transporting, & processing & storage instore. I have had multiple issues with meats particularly organic chicken although the dates are correct the chicken is not fresh, the smell is offputting, but not rancid so I take a 50/50 chance of food poisoning. I buy plenty of organic meat so yes I know what itâs supposed to smell like. Also, I have had NUMEROUS bad experiences with all marked down meat, getting it home & finding it rancid - no mistake there. Again either no proper temp control or they are purposely re-dating meat labels. I have been shopping at this Martins for 8 years & now know to carefully check dates on everything I buy increasing my shopping time & to immediately check meats as soon as I get home. There is never any problem getting refunds or exchanges with a smile & apologies but there have been times when I was too tired & too exasperated to return so Martins got my $ for free. honestly i only frequent this Martins still because it is the closest grocery store & convenient. I used to go here several times a week but maybe once or twice a month now & am very selective about what I buy here. As I said overall an ok store but theyâve lost my trust. However, their app is great & easy to use now & gas rewards is of course absolutely...
Read morePlaced a cupcake order for my daughterâs birthday. The girl who took our order was super nice and friendly. She suggested a cherry filling for the cupcakes which I normally would never agree to but my daughter loved the suggestion so I went with it. She also said we couldnât to whipped icing bc the trolls image would get droopy if not refrigerated so we went with butter cream which Iâm not a fan of but again, went with it. Once we started eating the cupcakes at my daughterâs party we realized there was no filling. VERY disappointed. When I called the lady said they donât filling in cupcakes and whoever took our order must of been new. That very well may have been the case but whoever made the cupcakes knew they werenât filling them or couldnât so why wasnât a phone call made to me saying they couldnât do it. The only thing the lady offered was to bring my receipt back and theyâd âsee what they could doâ. I did not because I wasnât taking time from my daughterâs birthday to run back there and not knowing what exactly they could do for their mess up. Normally I use the Martins on Penn Ave but their print machine was broke so I ended up using this location but after this, I wonât use it for cakes/cupcakes anymore. Telling a customer the excuse of the person must of been new doesnât sit well with, if thatâs the case then you need to have better training and someone to double...
