Pretty much as bad as the horror stories. I just thankfully wasnt charged like others. I called, asking if they could test a GPU. The guy on the phone said they would run a normal diagnostic and it would be $99. Fair enough, i couldnt get my monitor to post, so i agreed and we set an appointment. 45 minutes before the appointment, i get a call about a service to rebuild the computer for $200. I decline and tell them i just want the GPU tested. Again, we agree and i come at the scheduled time. They take my PC in the back, then come out 2 minutes later saying yhey wont do anything unless he rebuilds it. Then they say they cant test the GPU. So why was i told twice that you would? Needless to say, it seems like they are trying to push their yearly subscription while pulling you in with agreeing to take a look at the PC. Needless to say i decline and left and got it up and running without a hitch. For those building a PC and youre getting no post, and nothing you find is fixing your problem, here is what i did wrong. The tower came with a Reset SW. I had it plugged into the motherboard instead of its original spot and that was for some reason causing a no post. Remove your Reset SW and see if that...
Read moreUsing the Geek Squad was very tedious. I bought a phone that has insurance coverage. I went to my nearest location where I bought the phone and in order to get it fixed I had to take it to another location, which is outside the city. Granted, they did an excellent job of fixing my phone, but the drive back and forth to get it fixed ruined the experience. I had to go for them to analyze the phone to determine if it could be fixed first. The funny part is when I took the phone to the original location where I purchased it, why couldn't they analyze the phone thetr and send it's documented condition to the location where it could be fixed?( Sounds too much like right) I had to wait a day or two to hear back. Next, someone made contact to schedule an appointment to bring the phone back to be fixed. Which it took them 2 days just to let me know that it can be fixed🤨 Last, I had to come back to pick up the phone once it was fixed. Now, it wouldn't have been a problem if it was in the city, but this was 40 minutes away there and back to my home. And kicked out $200 to...
Read moreI took my PC up because it was unable to boot up properly, which ended up being an issue with the disk drive, and they ended up replacing it with an SSD. That fixed my hardware problem, but what I mainly wanted done was data recovery, which they were unable to do properly. They transported the folders, but not a single file, and did not tell me this upon picking up my PC. I had paid $250 for a service they couldn’t do properly. Having to pay regardless of if they can fix it is not a good business tactic. I essentially paid money for something I could have done myself if they just told me what was wrong with it. Then they wanted me to “send it to Level 2 repair,” which could cost me well over $500. I ended up taking my disk drive to an independent repair technician who told me exactly what was wrong with it and claimed it would cost $1400, so I figured it wasn’t even worth getting my data recovered at that point. I got fully refunded for the Plus membership from Geek...
