City of Hayden — Local services in Hayden

150/10 the most poorly managed city in the 5 northern counties of Idaho. I'm a local/local business owner who has lived here for over 22 years. I've been extorted by the city of Hayden and my parents (who still reside in Hayden) are still being extorted with no end in sight.

They routinely fail to mitigate traffic (every road is backed up on a consistent basis), upgrade infrastructure (look at the sewer/water treatment dumpster fire), properly assess building fees (look at their recent legal loss and their impact fees/fee schedule), etc. They also routinely extort developers, contractors, businesses, etc. (research city of Hayden vs North Idaho Building Contractors Association).

They will tell you that the "city has a plan", "we are working on it", and "we are doing everything we can". However, we all know they are well versed in the speaking of platitudes and can't even manage a simple council debate over minor issues (their Mayor stepped down after bickering with council members over trying to protect the city from further litigation). The citizens of Hayden should be dragging each and everyone of their city officials out of that town hall.

Also, they are STILL illegally passing litigation fees from their failed legal battle onto the citizens of Hayden through a increased sewer fee (grab the informative flyer at the city hall and actually read how they are passing bs fees for their probelms onto their citizens). I encourage everyone who lives in Hayden to file a suit against the city.

DON'T MOVE TO HAYDEN, OPEN A BUSINESS IN HAYDEN, OR DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THE CITY OF HAYDEN.

They spectacularly fail at everything they do and the entire city of Hayden government/powers should be abolished.

I'm sick and tired of these people and their excuses. It was fine when those jerks tore up the road without a permit, it was fine when they had the water shut off for the entire street without giving us any notice. It's ok for them to try to stop people from leaving our street & then try to stop us from getting back onto it. It's ok for them to make our houses shake all around. According to the city of hayden they can do whatever they want. So next time I will be calling the police because NO they can't just do whatever they want. I JUST CALLED THE COPS ON THOSE JERKS FOR MAKING MY HOUSE SHAKE ALL AROUND & IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN I WILL CALL...

Re: Babygirls post. I share your frustration with the leadership at city hall. I am very proud of your willingness to take action by posting here. This is how we all become aware of problems and like all Hayden residents I know take action. I love our city, it just needs some cleaning in city hall. I promise to take action this November. I will ask my friends to as well. We hold the power as the voters, let's remind those who once they were voted in, forgot where...
