About 6 weeks before Christmas I came across my mother’s Family MON, which is the Japanese equivalent of a Family Crest. The design was approximately 500 years old and my brothers and my sister wanted to do something special for our mother who is 88.

I sought out several custom jewelers all over the US, however after sending out multiple requests for a bid to create some type of special pendant for my mother every one of them either wanted a fortune or they would require this lengthy drawn out back and forth project to gather info and propose this or that.

Within three weeks I had spent several hours already sending and receiving emails with multiple custom jewelers and was no closer to any type of possible solution and it was less than three weeks before Christmas.

I was getting frustrated and concerned I we would not receive any type of gift to present to my mom. I remembered a friend from Junior High and his family owned Klein’s Jewelry so I reached out and was pleasantly surprised when my friend’s younger brother (Mark) responded that he had taken over the family business.

I think I may have been over zealous in trying to explain what I wanted done and how I need someone to take a picture I sent of this Family MON on a coffee cup and turn it into a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Mark quickly shared the process, the approximate amount of time it would take to create the design which I would approve and the he would make a prototype sample and then we could order it in sterling silver or 14k or even 18k gold (yellow or white or even rose gold) or even titanium.

Within just a couple of days he not only sent me a picture the sample prototype in sterling silver, but he sent it in three sizes for a man, woman or child or something that could be used as a necklace (men’s or women’s) or for a girls charm bracelet.

Then he promised he could guarantee me that I would get it before Christmas.

This is where the story takes a turn. I let my family know that Mark with Klein’s Jewelry was going to save the day, but the. My brothers and sister all wanted to order not only the pendant as a present to themselves, but also for gifts to each of the children and their wives. Of course each of my siblings wanted special little changes or customizations even if they had to wait until after Christmas.

At this point Mark handed me off to one of employees because now I needed, thicker chains, longer chains, custom bracelets, keychains pendants, a custom lapel pin, etc. it actually became very chaotic and stressful in my life because the next thing I knew I had cousins and additional relatives reaching out to see if they could order something.

John was able to help me keep all of the orders straight and believe it or not they were able to create at least 23 different versions of custom pieces of jewelry in 3 different sizes and all different precious metals ALL BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!

I really didn’t think it was possible!

Not only that their prices totally were much cheaper than every other proposal I sent out for and their turnaround time from start to finish was not just days faster, but in more than 2 cases over two to three weeks faster than the other custom jewelers.

After Christmas there have been additional orders as well. Now I’m trying to save for a special custom ring and I am hopeful to have my dad’s family crest turned into something special as well for my son and my brothers.

Truly just saying Thank You over and over to Mark and John for all of their help, the excellent customer service, the great value of beautiful craftsmanship at an affordable price, plus the speed of service? INCREDIBLE!!!

Several months ago, I broke one of the settings that holds a diamond on the band of the wedding ring set my husband gave me on our 10th anniversary almost 27 years ago. Luckily, I was able to find the diamond when it happened. I was heartbroken. We didn’t know of a trustworthy, reputable jeweler in our hometown (Greenville, SC).
