Kitchen Kaboodle Orenco — Local services in Hillsboro

It's not a very welcoming shopping experience. Among two times of my visiting, even I had eye contact with staff while I was walking in the store, they simply turn away their heads. But a couple walking behind me got huge welcome greeting. In the combined total ~30 minutes in store, I observe 10+ white folks waling into the store receive very warm welcome greeting but none of color customers (5+) were greeted. Ironically, the plate hung on a side door writing black live matters. Poor business practice. Most of products here are tagged the store-own price sticker on top of the original one which has the origin (country) of manufacturing. 80% of products have either no label of where they are made or the info. is covered beneath the 2nd store sticker. Customer shall have the right to find products manufactured by/from reliable countries. Particularly for cookers, poor quality ones will directly contaminate food and drink. I don't think they accidentally block it because other made in USA ones are label super clearly, such as Pyrex. If we want to support local, why shall we support local who only import low quality products 6 thousand miles away from here. Finally, after I checked out and tapped my credit card, the cashier picked up the recipe hanging his hand not giving to me; meanwhile, he already turned his body back to another cashier talking to her....

I love all of the Kitchen Kaboodle stores, but Orenco is my favorite. I love all of the staff there, they are always the sweetest and most helpful with very little thing!!! And they know a lot about their products. Emily has been helping me pick things out for years!

Not to mention, they always love on my puppies - Rusty and Roxy and give them treats. My dogs beg to go in and see all of their Kitchen Kaboodle friends. I think they may even like the attention more than the treats.

I LOVE EVERYTHING about this store! The quality of their products is great, their service is fabulous and their dedication to making it an amazing shopping experience is definitely well noted.

I am inside of this store right now looking for a cheese knife and I am being followed by 2 store employees. I am visibly Mexican and so are my family members who are with me. This older white woman and white man were physically following us and “organizing” stuff that are not out of order - just to follow us, continuously asking if we need help. I’m taking my brown self to New Seasons, I never feel discriminated against there. Seriously can’t believe this BS is happening in 2022...
