I have lived at this property from early 2018 to late 2021 and would definitely recommend. The apartments are modern and well furnished, and have nice and convenient amenities such as a pool and lounge, along with a community coffee maker and private study rooms you can reserve. The staff have been wonderful. I have primarily dealt with Maria Arce, the assistant property manager, who has always been professional, helpful, and extremely nice. The service crew on several occasions have surprised me with how quickly they accept and work on your service ticket.
If you are concerned about noise, then keep reading. The room I rented was along the main street on the first floor. The noise from the cars is not absent, but it is minimal. It is a light background noise that you're only going to notice if there is no noise in the apartment. As when going to bed it is the same story, but hardly an issue as barely anyone is driving by if you have a typical sleep schedule and don't need absolute silence to sleep. The walls with neighboring apartments are well insulated. You can only hear your neighbor if both of you are close to the wall and being VERY loud. Personally I am extremely pleased with the silence the walls provided and would continue living here if my circumstances permitted.
For parking, there is free curb parking around the building, and there are always open curb parking on NE Campus Way. The parking garage is nice and would recommend if the fee isn't a worry.
For packages, there is a secured package cabinet next to the mailboxes that does not cost extra to utilize. Most of the time the couriers will place them in the secured cabinet and you will have to put in a username and PIN number to unlock the door. Couriers will bring the items to your door if they do not fit in the cabinet.
The units do provide an AC unit that connects to the window via a duct. It takes about the same floor footprint as an office chair. If you're not interested in using it, you can wheel it to a closet.
The neighborhood is great. The property is right next to the max station that can take you to Downtown , the airport and beyond. That max station is also right next to shops like a coffee house, brewery, flower shop, French restaurant, a Boba tea joint, and some fitness places.
Overall, I would highly recommend this property. The staff are great and helpful. The units are well furnished and are quiet. If you find a floor plan you enjoy, I would say there aren't any reasons I can think of from the complex or staff to dissuade you...
Read moreIt is the first time I am writing a negative review ever, and gosh, it has to be for Tessera (it didnt have to be this way). I wish there was an option for negative stars, to show how bad Tessera is. No, dont get me wrong, the apartments may be nice and all, the management is just horrible....entitled, disrespectful, incompetent and extremely unprofessional brats running the shitshow. I went there several times to decide on what apartment i wanted, as my lease (with a different apartment complex) was getting over. Aleksi was probably the nicest of them all, treating me with enough respect to have me come back a second time to view a few more apartments.
Problem 1: If you commit to offering a certain special to a prospective tenant, you abide by it. Nobody is asking you to offer anything, but if you do, then stick to it. I was offered 2 in a span of 4 days while touring various apartments, and when I came in for my 3rd visit, i was told they will honor neither....extremely unprofessional.
Problem 2: I viewed a few apartments, asked for the quotes to be sent to my email, to help me decide what I want while I weighed my options. I was sent none. I called the leasing office atleast 10 times in 2 days, but no one picked up...kudos to your professionalism. And then when I do a walk-in, you have the temerity to ask your associate to call IT in front of me, because your email stopped working all of a sudden when i mentioned about the "emails" that I should have received days back.
Problem 3: Pick up the goddamn phone. Or else have a call center manage your affairs like other apartment complexes.
Problem 4: You guys are essentially in business because people who work in the area, love to live in the area, and that includes me. Treat your tenants and prospective tenants with a little more respect and a little less high-handedness. Do not be so condescending in your demeanor. You arent doing anybody a favor by renting out your apartments, so keep that attitude in check. There are a lot of other/better options in the area, and I hope you are fully aware of it.
Oh, and I will talk to Holland Residential about this. My time is of value, and it has been immensely wasted by the incompetence of people running Tessera's...
Read moreMediocre is a great word here. Some ups, some downs.
As a note, the owners of the building just changed, so some things may be different with them.
Edit The new owners aren't any better it seems! I've since moved out, and they won't respond to me about returning my deposit. No written accounting or any paperwork after a month and a half. I've got a pending court date just to deal with this, because they don't seem to want to let go of a tiny deposit Edit
The apartments are pretty nice, and the common areas are all really spacious. They definitely charge a premium for that space.
The office staff couldn't give you a straight answer, and the manager was awful. I had to get them a copy of my ID 6 times in total because they kept losing the paperwork. They also had an issue where auto pay would turn off after 12 months, which they only told you with the late fee they wanted to charge you on month 13.
People will park in the access road in the center of the complex. For days. Without getting towed.
There isn't Air Conditioning, and they don't allow any AC units but the standalone ones. They also don't rent them out.
The water quality is pretty low. Get a filter or buy water for drinking. I didn't mind it for cooking in.
5 times over the course of summer the fire alarms went off in the middle of the night, with no actual fire. The only explanation we ever got was an issue with the wiring, which felt pretty hollow after the first few times.
Street parking is a nightmare. Weekend parking near the church is packed.
There is a fire station down the street. Be prepared to hear sirens multiple times a day, and sometimes at night.
The max is just far enough to not be too loud, which is nice. You have quick access to it without all the noise.
The apartment front doors slam shut really loudly. It seems to be every apartment from what I've noticed. If you have someone who leaves early in the morning, they will need to make sure to keep the door from slamming.
My advice if the new owners can't fix a ton of these issues is to just pick another complex nearby. You can find cheaper, usually with a few weeks of...
