This restaurant is one of my all-time favorites! That is amazing, considering that most of my favorites either have seafood galore, or are a buffet. Hearty, wholesome meals are the topic here, this is top notch comfort food! Coffee is usually a great starter for me, always have decaf now and they aren't hesitant about brewing me a fresh pot. I like to order my food first, then run to the pastry section to choose what exciting thing I will enjoy later after I digest my food. The menu has a lot of delightful options. The risotto cake here are amazing. The benedict served with their best croissants in the world, ever, EVER, is just amazing. I typically clean my plate, and order all butternut squash on the side because despite the potatoes being pretty good, that butternut squash is just where it's at! Cooked with herbs and to perfect texture, they are perfect with any breakfast meal. The jam is delectable. If I could eat one item from the bakery per day from here, I would be so happy. They have fresh and awesomesauce breads, all sorts of cookies and baked goods, and a unique selection of dank cold desserts such as strawberry shortcake and my personal favorite, chocolate mousse. The big display case of fresh desserts is too much too handle! I just have to have one! My son LOVES picking out his little treat after his meal. For him, making choices is exciting, and this place gives him the opportunity to do just that! My only wish is they had some lactose-free options. Everything here has butter and milk in it, so I have to eat a few lactose pills before coming here and still pray I don't get a stomach ache. So glad it is so close to my house! Easy access! My only complaint is they get so busy, but hey, I can't blame those crowds, and it doesn't change my opinion of this place. Sending much love from my belly to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been to this place several times and have always enjoyed it and have recommended it to many people. However, today, January 31, 2017 I went to lunch with three other ladies. We arrived at 1:30. We were seated right away but everything went downhill from there. After waiting about ten minutes, I stopped a server and told them we had not been waited on as yet. Our server finally came over and we ordered drinks, two coffees ( one regular, one decaf) and two hot teas. At that time we ordered our lunch, it is now about 1:50. The coffee came about 7 minutes later, however, the teas did not come until about 2:15. My friend asked if the server if she had to go to a China for the tea, she said they were busy in the bakery so it took a while to get it ready. Excuse me, 25 minutes to pour hot water into a pot and bring it to the table, plus the tea was not hot!!! We finally got our food at about 2:30. I love the French Onion soup and order it frequently. Today it was mediocre at best, I was very disappointed. My sister and I split the Monte Carlo sandwich. It was very dry, with no Dijon mustard in site. My friend had an omelette with tomatoes and artichokes and gluten free toast. Her omelette was cold and the artichokes tasted like the can and she never got her toast. When the server finally came back to check on us, my friend told her to just forget the toast. We asked the server if we could go to the bakery and pick out dessert and put it all on the one bill, she got so flustered that our friend just asked her to close out the bill and she would pay separately in the bakery. I do need to say the restaurant was not that busy. I will tell you had this been my first visit, I would not ever come back. I am hopeful that our next visit will be back to your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband took me here for dinner for our anniversary and we shared a few different dishes. I still remember the taste of the mouthwatering steak we had there. We also tried the chicken cordon bleau, and a light salad that had goat cheese and beets etc, and every bite we had was pure perfection... not just saying that!
Iāve also taken my sister and in-laws there for lunch and had a Cajun sandwich, also very good!
My husband and I on a regular basis get the ham & cheese croissants and almond croissants...best croissants of all time! If you go there for breakfast as well, some dishes come with a plain croissant and jam and the jam is so good and so fresh! I occasionally ask for extra jam just so I can take it home with me.
Iāve tried their omelettes, which usually I worry about ordering when I go out because typically the egg is either too thick with not enough cohesiveness in the dish, or itās too dry, but to my surprise, the egg was thick but actually so moist and the flavors were absolutely cohesive and purposeful. So Iāve at least found one place that makes good omelettes now!
Lastly, Iāve tried some of the pastries and the macaroons, and they are quite sweet but they have small bite sized portions that are just enough. Or you can purchase full cakes, or loaves of bread etc.
Okay sorry, rant over. We clearly love this place and we live across the street, and we could not be any happier about it! 11/10 all around! Will take photos when I go next...
