Beautiful studio very nice staff for the most part but not a very pregnant friendly establishment. None of the classes had any disclaimers, the instructors don’t ask if anyone’s expecting, when you join no paper work asks either. I figured all classes were ok for pregnant women. I took a class that was supposed to be for 12 weeks and under, I was informed after the class and I was 15 weeks. On another occasion I took a class and the instructor insisted I cover my nose, I explained to her I’m pregnant and having shortness of breath and I can cover my nose but during some moments of the class I will need to pull the mask below my nose for some air. (Just as people sip their water without an issue) I need to get some air through my nose at some point. She asked me to leave. I sent out an email it was never answered. I called and asked to cancel they waived the cancelation fee but wouldn’t refund me the remainder of my money for classes not taken, I told them I’m not comfortable returning to your studio that was a humiliating experience. They stated “well whenever you’re comfortable the credits will be here.” Just awful experience. I felt there was no professionalism in how the situation was handled. And as a business owner I’d refund the guest if it were our wrong doing.
Response to Club Pilates Reply:
Good to know that this studio response was to still not to respond to my email and never refund me & it was ok for someone to pull their mask down a moment for water but not for me to do so under my nose, we are living some truly dark times and it saddens me as a human being that as a business owner you find the handling of this just. The right thing to do is just refund me and we both go our own ways. There was no reason to kick me out of a class for my nose being out when I explained to the instructor I can cover my nose but at moments I will have to pull it beneath my nose for air. May I add when I joined there were no questions on my pregnancy nor if I was pregnant when I informed the instructor after my second class she panicked and rushed me to sign wavers, I went to my car and cried, Im talking a stressful ugly cry like Ive never cried in my adult life before. I was so disgusted to where we're at as a society right now. I lost the pregnancy doctor said baby stopped growing at 15 weeks same week I took this class, I have proof of this, maybe it was due to the class, maybe it was the stress of the climate were in either way I hope you all sleep well at night, knowing your power tripping instructor couldn't bare a pregnant women grasping for air for a few moments. These masks do nothing to protect us there's no scientific backing to them and while actively working out the do more bad than good. But again thanks for letting me know where you guys are with pregnant women or anyone with breathing issues due to pregnancy. "We're all in this together"...
Read moreI've been coming here for 7 months and really liked it at first however I honestly just got bored and recently ended the membership. The people are nice the instructors are good but this is what you need to know: if you miss a class you will be charged $15 if you don't cancel within 12 hours. If you need to freeze your membership you will be charged $15 a month until you reactivate. The cancellation policy is ridiculous. It has to be in writing and 30 days after your next billing day. So I canceled in writing on March 1 but since my billing day is March 10, they're still going to charge me on that day even though I cancelled before the billing day, and the last day of my membership will be April 10. There are different types of memberships and each costs a different amount. The least expensive is $189 a month for 8 classes a month. The problem with this one as you cannot book more than one week in advance and these classes get filled up very quickly. The next membership is unlimited number of classes/mo and you can book in advance. This one is $230/mo. I'm not sure about the costs and benefits of the 3rd membership option. I did overhear a conversation about a promotion going on at one time for $189 for the unlimited which is much more reasonable. There seems to be a lot of rotation of instructors coming and going from their positions here As well as front desk people. This caused a problem for me when I was trying to call to cancel but they didn't have a front desk person t answer the phone so I was charged the $15. Pilates is it supposed to be good exercise but I saw no results in my strength or toning even after 3x week for 7mos and given that I'm paying 230 a month I'm getting no results I decided to and the membership. However, my main issue with this business they "nickel and dime" you with these policies. Shop around before...
Read moreExcellent! My back feels so much better. Good pace for me. Clear instructions. Fun! Just came out of a session with Caroline. I really struggle with my lower back. I feel dramatically better, which is a lifesaver for me 🤸♀️ Fun session too with the equipment! I am in love with this place. I think the prices are reasonable (and I’m a cheap European!). It functions very well, is clean, unpretentious, and all of the instructors are excellent. I suddenly have dreadful arthritis (54!) and this place keeps me mobile and as active as I need to be. 🤸♀️🚶🚲🤓
Vivian leads a fun and challenging class. It was rather different, involving a lot of jumping, which was great! Big thumbs up for this Good Friday session. Thank you. 🙏
Bonnie is clear and gives us great stretches! A life-saver for my back. Every class is different and most enjoyable - I usually do not like organized exercise classes. I look forward to the freedom of movement these give me! Thank you.
April 2024: Caroline is still a favourite. Instructions are very clear and she helps you make the moves accurately. Helps my lower back a lot! Also thought UK Lisa was great the other week, who sometimes also teaches the same am slot. I could not function without this ‘newly-discovered for me’ Pilates! 🤸🏾
May 2024: Meryem makes us work a bit harder than other level 1 classes. The class was interesting, challenging, and helped with my flexibility. I had fun, as always! 🕊️
June 2024: Sara leads a fun and interesting class. The stretching makes my new stiffness 😱 feel so much better!
August 2024: Caroline is still a favourite instructor. My back depends on these fun classes. I really do not care for organised exercise classes, but really enjoy these...
