FYE — Local services in Holyoke

I remember when FYE opened in the Holyoke Mall, it must have been 23 or 24 years ago. There used to be two locations in the same mall. They condensed down to one, which was smart, considering they both had the same type of merchandise. With CDs becoming more and more digital, the store is expanding to take on more fun, little movie knick knacks and props, plushies, and novelty items. However, you can still get your concert tickets here, which is cool. They do still have a good selection of CDs and an amazing selection of DVDs/ Blu-ray. My only complaint about this store is their price. They're used merchandise is very fair, and on occasion they do have a good sale on new merchandise, but for the most part, a lot of what they have is cheaper on Amazon as far as new movies go. That being said, it's really nice to have a shop that you can go into and pick stuff up the same day, or just look around. The staff is usually pretty helpful as well. The fact that they buy pre-owned DVDs and CDs means that sometimes they don't have everything out for sale right away. If you ask them to check into something for you, they are able to look in their system if they may have it in the back or if they can special order it. Sometimes, you can find a pretty rare DVD or Blu-ray. With the way stores are going under and disappearing, I hope that these guys...

I normally don't do negative reviews because I always have a good experience almost everywhere I go., unfortunately this is the most unprofessional place I've been in the almost 10 years that I've lived in Springfield Ma, There's a manager named Nick who may seem in the beginning friendly and cheerful but will badly talk behind your back without knowing you and spread rumors in the store about his customers and his own co-workers so if you're looking to shop at FYE be very careful who you talk to and who's receives you he is a small skinny dude about 5ft tall with glasses who will pretend to be kind but in reality he is not he is a complete opposite. At one point he accused a friend of mine as we were shopping of stealing only because he has tattoos and was not smiling at him. Good place worst workers ever and managers. So please be careful and make sure there are no loose tags because he will think you put it in...

They SCAMMED my sister into signing up for the rewards program without disclosing to her that she would be charged 11.99 every month (so $150 a year only to receive a 10% discount). Who shops here enough that it would make sense?! In no way did they verbally or in writing tell her that she would be charged for this rewards program. Luckily she saw it on her bank statement a month later but now she’s unable to cancel the rewards or get refunded in store. Thousands of people online have experienced this same thing where they unknowingly have been charged for months on end and it’s nearly impossible to cancel it. DONT SHOP HERE THEY WILL SCAM YOU. AND ESPECIALLY DONT USE A CREDIT CARD HERE. I am never one to write a review...
