Be prepared to be ripped off. We went yesterday and saw a guitar and a fidget spinner for my kids. They told me the price of large guitar would be $15 and $10 for a small one. They also told me the fidget spinner would be $10. Both items I thought were a bit expensive for what they were so we decided to think about it.
Today we were prepared to go back to buy the same items and asked for them. Different sales person at same stall. Now the fidget spinner was $15 and all guitars regardless of size were $15. How can they do that? Just come up with new prices for exact same items next day. Then when I was shocked and told them it was $10 yesterday, she told me I must have remembered wrong and that it normally cost $30. There were 5 of us there yesterday that heard the same prices that I did. They also refuse to budge on the guitar price even though we just wanted them to honor what they priced yesterday.
I don't know if all the stalls are as dishonest and racist but this particular stall ....beware of them. When I walked away trying to calm my crying daughter, she muttered "this is not China". I'm not from China and I wasn't trying to bargain with her, I just wanted to give her a sale and have them honor their prices of one day ago. They also own the stall on the East side of the middle stall, selling similar items. Middle stall in the entire marketplace. Only one that sells...
ย ย ย Read moreOur server was fantastic. Super sweet, super helpful, very attentive even though he had an 18 top next to us. I love great service, great ambience and delicious food. The salad bar selections were delicious, they reminded me of the offerings at Bruin Plate at UCLA Campus Housing. Hubby and I had the very juicy, flavorful and tender prime rib with the addition of lobster tail. I had the lava flow with dark rum floated on top-- yes please!! And our server surprised us with Hula Pie for dessert, it was hubby's birthday. OMG, HULA PIE!!! You need this.
Listen, there was a miscommunication within the kitchen and there was a huge mixup with our order. We had to wait an exuberant amount of time for prime rib and lobster tail. The manager came over and apologized, got us a round of drinks and the great dessert. I really appreciate their professionalism in dealing with the situation. I noticed that there was a shift change right in the middle of dinner service. I'm a Chef, I've NEVER seen this, I did let the server know I observed the change and asked about it; he passed my concern onto the manager on duty.
With all that said, I had a great time because of the way things were handled, the servers great attitude and the delicious food.
I would definitely go to Duke's again when I...
ย ย ย Read moreGreat place to go for souvenirs. Some vendors have fair prices, but most will lie about the quality and authenticity of their items. I saw a lot of fake merchandise, like resealed Pokรฉmon packs (if the edges of the pack are sharp triangles, itโs fake) and fake Labubus plushies. You can always barter and use some negotiation skills to bring prices down to something more affordable. You can usually get necklaces and nice bracelets for around $3โ$4โstill cheaper elsewhere, but bartering is part of the fun, so I donโt mind paying it. If you want the most bang for your buck, the shirt lady at the front usually has great sales and is super nice, and the guy across from her has some pretty cheap stuff too (plus he doesnโt bother you when youโre looking at his merchandise). 2 stars down only because some vendors lie and wonโt leave you alone sometimes. Food vendors are really...
