Ola ParaDive Scuba Oahu — Local services in Honolulu

We're returning from a week long trip to Honolulu and I wanted to take a minute to leave a review for Jonathon and his company, Ola Para Dive. As a life long snorkeling enthusiast, I have always wanted to try scuba diving but have been concerned with confident enough with safely completing the required skills. My wife and I tried snuba a few years ago which was a good introduction to breathing under water but was limiting and didn't address my concerns with accomplishing scuba skills. I've thought about doing a discover scuba trip for several years and finally pulled the trigger on our most recent trip to Oahu.

I selected Jonathon and Ola Para Dive based on the great reviews, availability and the reasonable price. After booking the trip, Jonathon got right back to me to confirm the best time and continued to have excellent communication.

On the morning of the dive, we met Jonathon at the charter dive boat and he was great about keeping us informed as to what to expect and took the time during preparations to start mentally preparing me for our skills practice. We departed from the harbor on time and once at the appropriate shallow dive site, Jonathon got me set up with gear, went over in detail what we were going to be working on and made sure I was feeling confident.

I'll admit, my first 20 minutes in the water was a little stressful and it took me longer than I thought to get comfortable but I have to give full credit to Jonathan. He remained calm and focused on my success and didn't let me even think about giving up.

In the end, I was able to check off a lifelong bucket list item and the experience of diving a vibrant coral reef with turtles all around at 40ft far exceeded my exceptions. This is going to be a long review but completely worth it.

I recently went scuba diving for the first time while I was in Hawaii. I was a little nervous and scared at first. I booked with Ola Paradive that I found online. The owner Jon called because I booked a boat adventure but booked to snorkel. Jon and I talked and scheduled to do a private 1 on 1 shore dive.

Jon was very professional and energetic when I meet him for our shore dive. Jon explained everything we were going to do prior to getting any gear on. Jon was very responsive and knowledgeable. I enjoyed diving so much that I booked a boat dive for the next day.

Jon called to let me know that there was going to be another couple diving with us. We meet for our boat dive and Jon made sure that all our gear and tanks were on the boat. Jon made sure that our gear was on correctly before getting his own gear on and getting in the water before us. I didn't know what to expect since I never did a boat dive before. We dove in two different areas and Jon made sure we saw plenty of wildlife while we were in the water. I enjoyed the boat dive so much that I booked 2 more dives before I left to go home.

I dove in the same place on my third dive, but I saw different wildlife. I got to see a huge sea turtle, sharks, octopus, eels and plenty of fish.

On my 4th dive I got to see sharks, fish, octopus, sea turtle, eels and a lobster. I can't wait to go back and get scuba diving certified by Jon.

I would recommend anyone who wants to try scuba diving or go scuba diving again while in Hawaii to book a dive with Jon at Ola Paradive you...

I signed up for the open water certification course with Ola ParaDive Scuba! I must say Johnathan was excellent from start to finish he explained everything thoroughly. Went over all the safety checks with me & made sure I learned everything about my gear. Tested me in & out of the water & made the dives & the entire certification process truly enjoyable & memorable. His primary concern is everyone’s safety & he really made getting my open water certification just an amazing experience! He was patient & calm, in turn He helped me remain calm & put me at ease always throughout all the dives & the entire learning & training process. I would recommend Ola ParaDive Scuba to anyone looking to try scuba diving for the first time or wanting to get PADI certified in scuba diving.
