I've been doing my hair at Bobbi&Guy for 10yrs off and on. I had my first hair cut and highlights there in 2009 when I moved here. I just started a Guest Services job at a hotel and really needed a haircut and highlights. I got a stylist was guy that use to work in the the Hair salon I went to where I was born and raised. So moving here and trusting another stylist was very important to me.When I arrived for my appointment he made me feel comfortable and he reassured me that I had nothing to worry about. He would take care of me and he did. I love my haircut and highlights, So I went to Bobbi&Guy salon periodically. Unfortunately he passed away . I didn't cut my hair for awhile due to funds and couldn't cut my hair as often. Fortunately I got some money for Xmas and decided to treat myself for the holidays. When I called to make a appointment I asked about the prices on Wash, cut, style, blow dry partial highlights, and flat iron. The receptionist gave me an estimate,I also told her I had a budget and if they could work with what I could spend. Her estimate was $140-$160 I told her that $140 is my budget and she said that she will note that down.So I made my appointment and showed up to have a Asian stylist a woman which was fime .I'll call her Liz. Liz was nice and pleasent and I told her what I wanted done and how much it would cost since I was in a budget, she asked me how much I said $140 she said ok and with taxes it was$147.00 I had $150 which left me nothing for a tip. I was embrassed and I told Liz this but she said it was ok.She did a really good job in highlighting the color was really good the cut and style was excellent. I remembered that I got a $50 gift card from Tommy Bahamas.Since I didn't have $$ to tip her and if was a week before Xmas it would be perfect for her to get a Xmas gift. So I explained to her and gave her the gift card. Liz was thankful and I told her I'll ask for again when I come back to do my hair again. It wasn't right away another 2yrs before I went back. Made an appointment with Liz and asked how much it would be for the same things I wanted done to my hair and my budget.Liz asked how much I could spend I told her $180w/tax cause I had $10on the side for her tip.It came out to $184. Which again I had $6.00 tip for her. I really got the impression that it was kind of expensive. The price kept going up and up,When I first went to salon the gut stylist prices was $125-$130 and didn't fluctuate every time I went there. It was a consistent price. I told Liz I only had $6.00 to tip her cause I didn't realize how expensive it would be. Liz gave me this fake smile when I gave her the money. She cut highlighted and blow dryer my hair flat ironed. Liz said that she didn't charge me for flat ironing my hair and that she was doing me a favor and if her boss found our she would be in trouble. During the finishing touches Liz finishing flat ironing and she burned my right side ear like it was on purpose cause I only had $6.00 .I said OUCH!! Liz said oh in sorry. In all the years of going to get my hair done not one stylist ever did burn my ear with a flat iron. Never!! I know Liz was mad but it was the prices going up and up.. I didn't want to make a scene or be ungrateful. I...
Read moreReally terrible business practise. My husband bought me a gift card from this salon on Hickam Air Base. When I wanted to redeem it in January this year, I found out that the Hickam salon switched owners and I have to go to the downtown location. I called them and the Bobbi and GUY salon told me that they won't honor my gift card because they can't verify how much was on it because their system from Hickam shut down. So I lost $100 for no fault of my own. They are keeping our money spent on the gift card and offered no other solution. I feel robbed and very much mistreated. I had been a loyal customer with...
Read moreLoved my haircut here from Tiara!
I usually have a very difficult time finding a place that cuts men's asian hair well but was very happy here. I usually go for a short to medium length for men's hair, and like to style it spiky or wild. Tiara was great at cutting to what I wanted.
The location itself is a bit hidden underneath the movie theater. It's a little bit on the older-looking side, but was clean and neat overall. Good...
