Just finished an SMP training course with a master of his craft, Ken Park. Ken is an excellent teacher and also a mentor for the days I spent with him. His training booklet Introduction to Scalp Micropigmentation is well thought out and informative. His teachings were clear and straight to the point. His methods and practices are the right way to do SMP in my eyes and if you look at his reviews and photos you will agree also. If we had any questions he had answers for all of them. He shared a lot of his SMP experiences and how he got to where he is now. We had a lot of fun but when it came to work it was all business, Ken is a straight shooter and will tell you what you’re doing wrong and help you correct it but won’t hesitate to give you praise when you’re doing it right way. He shared pictures of his work throughout class but watching him work on a live model and watching the results come to life was an eye opening experience. It was one of those I can’t believe my eyes kind of moments. Me and my friend along with Ken worked on our models scalp together and it came out awesome. At the end of the session we were all happy with the results and the model looked younger and happier. He left with a big smile on his face, was so happy he forgot to grab his water bottle and sunglasses on the way out. This was only his first session and I know his second session will be even more amazing and full. Professional, great customer service, and easy to schedule appointment dates/times. The company website explains the step by step process exactly as I experienced. I’m extremely satisfied with the end result, and I now walk around with more confidence. I love the low maintenance aspect of keeping my hair shaved, while at the same time displaying the allusion of being blessed with a full head of hair.

As a customer, my biggest takeaways from this experience is that each of the sessions has a unique purpose. The first session is the lighter base layer, and the second session is the darker overlay. The third session is the final layering and balancing of the different shades on the scalp to achieve complete uniformity. My biggest word of advice is to “trust the process.” It starts to really look good after the second session, but it looks incredible after the third session.

Pain level is nothing to worry about. I’ve never had any tattoos to compare it to, but it basically feels like something is scraping at your head. After each session was completed, it just felt like I had a mild sunburn on my head on my drive home, but that all subsided after about an hour.

My hair became thin after a hysterectomy at age 46. I tried wigs, hair pieces, cutting my hair short to growing it out which helped me camouflage the thinning crown area.
