TL:DR If you are not particular or don’t care about your alteration needs and are ok with poor customer service then you will be satisfied. If not, read more…
I recently had my dress altered and upon picking it up did not look right. After bringing it home I found a few apparent issues 1.The hem was white and my dress is various colors of green and cream (it did not come close to the original hem color and significantly stood out). 2.The corset added was not properly finished and caused terrible bunching in the back.
I was truly upset since this dress is for my brother's wedding next week in Asia. I decided to go back and voice my concerns around the quality. When I returned, I let her know that I was disappointed with the quality and was immediately met with a very defensive demeanor. She said that I was mean and does not like working with particular people. She also said there are more important things in this world than to be worried about the color of the hem. She also was very clear to say she spent 3 hours and was angry of my lack of appreciation. To be clear, I paid $120 - this was not a favor, this was a service that did not meet any level of quality. I understand she did spend time on it however, getting defensive versus asking or understanding how we can rectify was never part of the discussion .
From a customer perspective, I was shocked at her attitude and inability to accept or acknowledge my general disappointment or the mistakes made. She focused on her time spent on my dress and how I was just too particular. She then continued to let me know that she will not provide any services to me in the future and I am not allowed in her shop again. To be fair, she did offer to fix the zipper but was clear she would do nothing else. To be honest, I did not want her to touch the dress after the interaction and was concerned she might make it worse.
I do know how to sew however, I was looking for a professional to make the alterations to my dress. Unfortunately, I did not interact with a professional from both a business and alteration technician/seamstress perspective.
With that said, I have spent much of my day re-hemming and correcting the issues associated with the corset she added.
I truly believe it is important to support our community and am saddened with the outcome of this experience. I do not recommend and would rather go to Portland than have another...
Read moreWas pleasantly surprised to stumble into this boutique and find actual homemade clothing and not the up-priced Temu items that so many "handmade" shops are selling these days. It's clear that the owner has a love for reworking clothing to keep them out of the landfill and does a great job with her designs and ideas. While I wasn't looking for any evening wear, this boutique appears to specialize in this type of clothing and I would highly suggest anyone looking for a prom or event dress search here first for unique designs and truly...
Read moreCame here for my partners wedding dress and thrilled with the experience. We went with a second hand dress from a non-profit (Bride's For A Cause, also highly recommend) and needed some repair and alteration work. She did an incredible job on both counts and gave us regular updates and timeline estimates. Price was reasonable, especially with the volume of hand sewing our items required. Recommend this place for any dress alteration or...
