Alley Theatre Center Garage (Winpark) — Local services in Houston

I paid 12$ to park here expecting to be able to conveniently come back to my car after an event. The event ended at 1 am and they failed to inform anybody of the fact that they would be closing every exit except one. Upon reaching the entrance that i drove through to park, the gat was closed and the sign informed me to look for parking entrance 5 on capitol. After some searching, i found entrance 5 and that was closed as well, a sign on that one telling me to find entrance #1. I was infuriated at this point because it was late and i just wanted to go home and this parking garage was making me look for my car like a rat in a maze. Once finding my car, 30 minutes after i intended to, I left. So i ended up paying 12$ for a convenience that ended up burdening me because it took so long to find the only open entrance while the other entrances misinformed me of which entrance...

I like the theater but the theater garage parking is very tight, lots of reserved slots, didn't find a space until level 10, guy behind me was impatient with me driving slow through a literal tight maze. I'm not looking forward to leaving the garage to be honest with you, have some anxiety about it.

The plus sides are tunnel access via elevators and safety. But the downsides are very tight turning and parking, do not take your large vehicle here you will seriously regret it if they even let you in.

I used the app, SpotHero, mixed bag, not sure I would use it again for this parking garage. The scanner doesn't seem to like the QR code on the smartphone, took several tries to get it to work with several impatient...

Nice during the day, but once the gates shut it is the biggest hassle to get your car out. As I work late downtown I bought a pass and have experienced frustration every Friday and Saturday night, sometimes waiting a half hour for someone to eventually open the doors. Even with contract parking, the pass they provide won't open the outer gate and sometimes will read as though it has already been used, leaving you to deal with more frustration through customer service. I do feel safe leaving my car here, it's clean, and the location is great which is why it receives 2 stars instead of 1. Nice during the day, terrible...
