Anvil Cards — Local services in Houston

A true Houston gem. It is overflowing with wonderful handmade, from the heart products that have given my family and friends so much joy. Here I purchased my favorite Astros shirt (it reads “Josè Puede” haha!), a many a Willie Nelson themed items, stocking stuffer/water bottle stickers, and countless cards that inspired me to say what I previously couldn’t put into words.

Not only are their products superb, but the customer service is unmatchable. Several weekends ago a friend and I popped over to our restock cards after seeing our tailor next door. She had never been there and mentioned it would be so cool if a specific card had her Aunt’s name printed on it. JC overheard, and took the card to the back and printed her aunt’s name on the card FOR FREE. Little details like that make sentimental items like such even more meaningful.

So the next time you’re about to rush to purchase a run-of-the-mill, $7 card from CVS, consider going a bit out of the way to Anvil. It will be well worth the trip and you will most definitely leave with at least one card, a stupid grin, and satisfaction that you supported a fantastic...

Unique shop with cool, original takes on the classic greeting/ birthday card. This is my go to place for buying cards that I want to be more personable for family and friends. You won't find cards like these anywhere else and the people you gift them too will wonder where you got it! The owner/ manager is welcoming and always willing to help. I moved to San Antonio from Houston last year and I still order all my cards through Anvil's online shop. Prompt shipping and delivery. There is no expectation on my end for anything but the cards I ordered, however, I almost always receive a hand-written thank you and/ or cool stickers to go along with my order. Anvil Cards is one of those charming, cute little local small businesses that I'm thankful to have in the neighborhood. Every time I need a card, I always think of this place. They have a variety of original artwork in different forms (greeting cards, posters, tshirts), and you'll definitely find something you're looking for, no matter what the occasion. The quality of the card paper itself is great too! You can tell when writing in it. Service is friendly and their price point is agreeable. Bonus points for all the Houston/Texas centric artworks!
