Prior to a recent incident with Camp Run A Mutt Houston, I had positive feedback and an extreme level of comfort with their team. My puppy is a nine month old mixed breed who is extremely playful, friendly and happy. He passed an assessment test with flying colors and has always had a great time with Camp Run A Mutt playmates (dogs) and the staff (pretty much any dog or person he comes in contact with). Everybody seemingly watched over the pups during daycare at Camp Run A Mutt and knew them by name — especially Handsome so I was pretty disturbed to learn after deciding to board my puppy over night for the first time that upon being returned to me he was limping on both back paws, bleeding on his left hind leg under his nail (in the 5th digit), had several abrasions on both sides of his groin and was nervous/scared to play with other dogs. My dog walker who picked my pup up for us while we were headed back from a weekend trip said she questioned a team member at CampRunAMutt and they gave a poor explanation (“He may have turned his ankle or something”). When I spoke to the managers (Pho) and (Su), it was told to me that after speaking with their staff members (both night and day) that they had “no incidents” to report. Naturally, this is unacceptable and extremely disturbing. After a conversation with Jon of CampRunAMutt and pictures and a Drs report of Handsome’s injuries, we were refunded our money for the neglect Camp RunAMutt showed for Handsome, particularly as it relates to not paying better attention and noting his injuries or reporting his injuries to me (as his mom/owner). Jon called me to say he doesn’t think Handsome returning as a daycare dog “is a good fit”. I think while Jon was only saying that to protect any further liability, I agree 100%. I wouldn’t bring Handsome back or recommend anyone here after my recent experience but to each...
Read moreI recently moved back to Houston with my pup Izzy, and I am so happy that we found this place! All of the staff are super friendly and immediately make an effort to learn both your and your dog's name. They are also very attentive to each pup. When I picked Izzy up yesterday, they immediately wanted to let me know that she had gotten a scratch on her face, so they cleaned it. I reassured them that Izzy had actually gotten the scratch a couple of days prior from a different dog she was playing with. However, it was amazing that they noticed it because it's not the most obvious on her dark fur.
I work long hours, so the early drop off and late pick up times are very convenient. They are also very accommodating about extenuating circumstances. When I was unexpectedly stuck on call at work, they reassured me that it was no big deal and extended Izzy's daycare session into overnight boarding last minute, with no questions asked, no added fee, and no added stress.
My pup has endless energy, but is always happily wiped out when she comes home. She had developed serious separation anxiety during COVID quarantine, so it speaks volumes that she drags me across the parking lot trying to get in the door as quickly as possible.
I like that I can check in every once in a while via webcam (more because I'm curious to see how my dog acts when we're separated), and the prices with the daycare packages can't be beat! If you can't tell, I only have the best things to say about...
Read moreI started bringing my recently adopted pup (Kirby) here in June for daycare. They do a quick temperament test with the dog during your first visit (which you can watch on camera from the lobby) & when you pick them up from their first day, you receive a report card on how they did! At first, Kirby was a little shy & hesitant when I would drop her off. Now, she runs straight through the front door like she owns the place! Every single staff member (including both of the owners) is outstanding. They know Kirby by name & you can tell they love what they do. The facilities are great & are kept very clean. Plenty of outdoor space with a waterfall & shallow pool, shaded areas, tables, balls, etc. On rainy or hot summer days, their indoor area is air conditioned with plenty of room for the pups to play. They also have cameras throughout these areas which allows you to spy on your pup play during the day. Couldn’t recommend this...
