UNETHICAL PRICING PRACTICES.. I came here for a refill and pedicure and was charged an extra $5 for getting “long” nails. My nails were not long at all. They were honestly pretty average in length. I even cut them down shorter (another $5, which is customary) than the length I had prior to. I don’t like giving people a hard time, and I definitely don’t mind paying for what I get, but I don’t agree with undisclosed charges. So I pushed back on it.

The nail tech, who was very kind I might add, explained that management requires them to charge the fee, so she would go talk to him about it. He came over and told me that because my fake nail came over my real nail it was considered long. How is this your basis of the charge? If I clipped my real nails off when I got my full set, of course the fake nail will be longer than my real nail. In addition to that, what if I had this same length with my real nails freshly clipped off? What if I had this same length with an overlay? Based on your reasoning this same length would no longer be an additional $5 charge then, right? I mean, it just wasn’t making any sense.

So he pulls out their price list book to attempt to answer my questions, but the book didn’t help because there was nothing in there that justified the charge. So he tells me that he’s not able to answer my questions and that I would need to come back and talk to his manager the next day. Really? At this point I’m over it, because anyone can clearly see that it’s a bogus charge they’re using to get more money out of their customers. Zero ethics and integrity.

So I simply say it’s ok, I just think you guys need to be more transparent about this with your customers up front, or there should be a itemized breakdown of some sort to differentiate the lengths and its cost, i.e. short, medium, long, extra long, etc. because it honestly feels like a scam. His response was “Thank You.” I asked him if he thought that was an appropriate response, because I just voiced to you that your pricing practices feel like a scam and your response to that was thank you?? He said he was saying thank you for letting him know. Either way, his response was tactless, but I let it go. I’m not one for conflict, so I paid for my services, thanked them for their time, never to return again.

Last week, my daughter and I went to the Post Oak Nail Lounge on to treat ourselves.

The salon is very clean and bright. I wasn’t going to get my hands done but decided I would go with gel on them and just regular polish on my toes knowing they would take time to dry. My daughter had to get refills and also wanted regular polish on her toes. We were told it would take time to dry but we were ok with it.

All seemed to be fine and the massages that came with the services I chose where nice. Then I noticed that the UV lamp was on my daughter’s toes. She said “I guess I’m getting gel”, even after we both said regular polish no gel. When it came time to get to my toes, the man doing my pedicure went to get the UV lamp and then asked me if I want gel even after I had said no initially. I ended up giving in, which cost us each $20 more than we planned. At least I consented but my daughter did not. If you do not want gel on your toes, or other services, be firm because the nail techs can be very persistent.

Two days later, my daughter noticed that the gel on one of her toes was lifting. This wouldn’t have happened if it were regular polish. I called to see if they would repair it since we were there only 2 days before and they did fixed it for free.

I honestly didn’t think my nails looked the best because the edges looked a bit rough near my cuticle but I let it go. Now a week and a half later, I can feel rough edges near the base that when I take a shower, my hair gets caught underneath.

I have definitely had better manicures elsewhere and will not...

I have some mixed feelings about this location.. let me start off with the good ones. First, the were really nice and welcoming, they honored my student discount even though I did not have my student ID at the moment( I did have to verify my enrollment as a student of course). The service was great. I loved how my feet and hands came out so I won’t complain about that. They also offered me some wine which was very lovely and I felt sooo relaxed. now here are the deal breakers and why I won’t come back to this location.... while the lady was doing my feet and another was doing my hands, a third lady came in to observe the process. I did not have an issue with this. What I did have an issue with was the fact that the lady doing my feet was looking at me funny, would turn around to her other coworker and start talking in their language and than both would then turn to look at me and start laughing. I found that extremely rude and disrespectful as a paying customer. They did this Atleast twice... after that, I wanted to get my eyebrows and get my upper lip waxed. The lady seemed to be in a real hurry and did not fully go into much detail after waxing. They usually go back in and tweeze the hairs that were left behind. I understand she had an appointment but I was already being tended to and she could’ve taken her time. Especially since the eyebrow wax was $12. Other places charge $6-$8 and take their time to get EVERY unwanted hair. Overall, the full set and pedicure was great but the customer service...

Customer Service was immaculate, facility was clean and they had an organized system. I got a take off, new full set, and Post Oak Pedicure. Miss Nancy on my pedicure was amazing very gentle (I’m super ticklish) clean and neat I would prefer a little more of the Callus remover (the one that looks like a cheese grater ) but my foot was smooth when I left. My Full set was done at the pedicure bowls and I think this is where the problems started. Everything was fine ( although the menu says soak off and she popped them off it didn’t hurt and I personally prefer that to soak offs ) I felt she wasn’t able to Adequately see and position my hand right bc the acrylic was laid all wrong and the drill kept slipping and cutting me or she was drilling/filling the same spot over and over which lead to a heat spike. The end result was okay but I felt if it started right it wouldn’t have taken so long nor would I have had a small cut that’s still visible the next day and I would love my full set, shape, application, time but instead I feel like “ well she did what I asked at least) I left paying $110 plus tip ( I always tip a minimum $5 per person & great work I tip $20 per person)
