I feel like kohls does well enticing people to shop there. Their rewards program is actually worth while. You can literally use a 25% off coupon+ $10 off $25 coupon + extra 10% off email code + earn 5% back in rewards dollars that give you back kohls cash in $5 increments on the same purchase and if there’s a kohls cash event going on, you also earn $10 in kohls cash for every $50 you spend. Meaning if you have all these, you can spend $100, you’ll pay $58.50 up front, earn $2.92 in rewards dollars and get $20 back on kohls cash to spend the following cash spending event. Total out of pocket = $35.50 for $100 worth of stuff.
However - if anything goes wrong, they will NOt fix it. A couple of years ago, I went Black Friday shopping with my best friend. She didn’t have a rewards account set up, and used mine so we could get out of the store faster. She doesn’t shop at kohls often, but happened to need to return something a couple of days later. When she went back, she grabbed a new item and had to create her own account and the cashier was overly chatty and ended up bringing up that the rewards account on the return receipt didn’t match hers and so nicely offered to move the original purchase to her rewards account. Except- it was a $150 purchase and that cashier yanked not only $30 of kohls cash off my account, but she yanked all of my kohls cash and several other promotions I had on there, some from our Black Friday purchases and some I had just been saving. All in all, they took $80 from me and after speaking to 6 reps and a manager, I gave up on trying to fix it.

Read moreOn Friday 08/31/18 I went into Kohls to do a refund and an exchange. I went to the customer service counter with my bag of items. Really I just had a question on if I could take my bag throughout the store to exchange or if I had to leave it somewhere. A woman at the service desk named Susan took a look at me and told me to go stand in the big long line for the regular registers. I tried to say I just have a question and she wouldn't even stop and look at me to offer assistance. There was no one in her line that I would have been cutting. I asked if I can take my bag for an exchange through the store and tried to say I have a refund too but she cut me off, again not stopping what she was doing and wouldn't even look at me. She said I can take my items with me and any regular register can help me. So I get my item and stand in line. When I get to a register they say they can't do the return, it must be at the service desk. I explained how the rude woman at the service desk told me to go in the big line. She didn't acknowledge the remark about being treated rude and just did the exchange. Super annoyed I go to the service desk and stand in line, again, and end up getting Susan. She did not apologize or even acknowledge how rude she was to me and how, because of her, I had to wait in different lines. I was very irritated. This woman has no concept of customer service. I was never once rude to her or anyone else. Even when she was doing my refund I was polite and did not deserve to be treated so poorly. I sure hope Susan's manager sees this and does something because I was on the website all morning and the one way to give any kind of feedback is when you have an access code and you don't have those on...
Read moreI went to the store to do a simple exchange, sound simple right, no so first the store associate tell me oh u can go through the regular check out lane to do a even exchange no come to find out one of my jeans cost 68 and the other was 58 so you can't do a even exchange here ok so now I got to go stand in customer service line again so the lady say what do want to do I say and exchange so she take my receipt and do and exchange on the 58 dollar pants for the 58 pants so I tell her that not going to come out right because the jeans are to different prices plus I got a additional 20% off plus there buy one get second 50% off so she don't listen and did it her way now she asking me for more money and she the one owe me money now this is crazy so I seen a manger I waved her over she came over and couldn't fix it now what manger don't have a override code. then this simple minded customer gone say to the manger I know y'all wish y'all had security and the manger gone turn and say we do now hold up I no my ear didn't just hear that and she the manger and I haven't done nothing wrong so finally I said look y'all can keep the ten dollars the receipt I got go so the cashier put my jeans in the bag and throw them at me. I prayed and left so I called the store later ask to speak to the manger she get on the phone I ask her did they get that straight oh yes we owe you 10 dollars you can come in the store to pick it up at anytime. So I do, know I get to the store now they don't know what I'm talking about cause that manger is not there. So I got to explain it all again then they gave me the ten dollars no apologies no receipt.
