On Sunday, I met my old friend at Roller Kingdom, roller skating rink in Hudson, MA. I love it!! We loved it! What a bargain they have at this place. I was reading their website before I came, and I have noticed that they offered a deal on roller skates& roller blades ! You can choose from so many different styles, they have a book to view or some options at the store already. It’s your own choice! BUT the deal was you can buy the roller blades, or the roller skates from this business and get the equal cost back at you in admissions! I was so impressed with this deal!! Oh yes, this is what we did! The assistant manager Jason and the manager Lisa was so knowledgeable when we were deciding which skates we wanted and what we was going to use them for .... so impressive! I mean from the wheels, to the sizes and much much more! The wheels was tighten up for our safety! Anyways... this is just the start here! Let me tell you more about this place! It was so much fun with the colorful lights, walls and of course the music that gets any fun started! The staff was so helpful if you needed anything and the best part was the friendliness of the ppl skating here too. My daughter didn’t know how to skate and two kids came up to her and offered to teach her how to skate. It was so sweet!! Oh yeah, let me mention that you can buy some drinks and food here! You do have the option to order ahead, or in person. I definitely go with the bargains, and got the pizza, and pitcher of soda less than $20 dollars. This pizza size fed four of us! This is our new place to go for skating FUN!! I do love the fun and friendly atmosphere! If you forget socks... they have for sale too! This place is full of family and friends fun for hours! The have lazer tag, snack bar, games to play and win prizes. ( I love that you can actually buy the prizes of you don’t have enough tickets! ) you can have birthday parties here too and go into a prize ticket machine for 15 secs. ( I seen it happening during my visit) a lucky day to go! Look on the website to see what specials they are having during the week, weekends, and school vacations! They have LESSONS too if needed! ( love that part) lol check out the pictures and hopefully I will see you there! Let me add a few things... there is so much I can’t fit it all here... but they have lockers for a charge, and atm machines! They clean their area as you can see in the pic. And I seen the poster on the front door that they disinfectant with a spray after each closing. A plus for the COVID...
Read moreChaperoned a school field trip here and would definitely recommend this as a go to spot for other Elementary Schools as it was affordable, kept all kids involved and everything was timed perfectly!!! The only problem we experienced was cleanliness…. Especially with the “rollerblade/skate” rentals. My daughter and her friends received their correct sizes and all but you could smell the awful smell of years and years of used and never sprayed or cleaned used shoe/sock smell and it was horrible. Of course just like I expected when we returned our “rentals”, the shoe tenant just tucked the laces in her soaking wet used rollerblades, grabbed her shoes, placed them in their place and said “Thank you Have a nice day!!”…. Then repeated that same action for the other 45+ children on our trip. I’m just glad I packed extra pairs of socks and baby wipes to cleanse my 11yr old of that awful college hockey player smell, because like many others with reviews similar to mine…. This place really has the potential to be a true “Skylight” replacement if a little TLC in this establishment and its equipment were implied, nothing a couple top to bottom wipe downs and a few cases of disinfectant deodorizing sprays couldn’t fix in a few hours…. Other than the rancid wet feet smell that permeated the air at the end of our stay, the corner of every seat was slippery with pizza grease as I’m assuming “New Skaters” grabbed right after they ate on their cautious journey back to the rink that’s never been wiped, just the tabletops. One suggestion I would like to make…. a very inexpensive one that helps with safety and the overall experience a first timer would have, one I contemplated going to Home Depot if I didn’t show up in a school bus. I highly suggest you purchase some PVC pipe and assemble a few coasters for the younger skaters to help them understand the concept of balance. Then simply place a few carpet stickers on the corners so they don’t scuff up your floors. I understand you’ve been in business for a very long time and that’s great to see!!! I just believe you need to keep investing in yourself to stay competitive In...
Read moreYesterday my daughter and her team including myself showed up to roller kingdom to take some videos of her clothing line and her models. We called in advance a few times (1 month, 1 week and the day of) to confirm this was ok to do. Nicole who is the women we spoke with, advised it was ok to do. Our creative director went in to again make sure this was ok to do prior to us showing up and again confirmed it was ok to do and even provided a few suggestions on what section could be used if needed. As soon as we show up as a group, a diverse group mind you, the general manager came out and denied us. His 1st words were “did you send an email, if you didn’t then i don’t remember our conversation”. Obviously there wasn’t an email as we called prior and was given the ok. Not one time we’re we told to send an email. The way he spoke to us alone we new he was racist. We drove from all over mass to take this shirt video but he didn’t care he didn’t even want to hear why we were there specifically. Apparently we weren’t white enough. He didn’t even apologize for the miscommunication on their part. That’s the sad part! I would never recommend this place to anyone again ! The general manager needs to retire and learn how to speak to a diverse group of...
