On Friday, July 10th, I called and spoke with a girl about ordering a cookie cake for my husband's birthday. I also ordered a quart of the sweet cream with marshmallows ice cream. (He specifically requested these.) I told her his birthday was on Tuesday July 14th and that I wanted to pick everything up on Tuesday. The girl on the phone told me that they were closed on Tuesday but to hold on she wanted to speak to her manager that was on duty. Between the girl on the phone and the manager on duty, we arranged for me to pick everything up on Tuesday at noon. I was asked to go ahead and prepay since the store was officially closed Tuesday. I was told they would only be in there cleaning and working on stock and whatever else was needed to be done and that the registers would not be working. I agreed to prepay.
I live in Crockett so I showed up at 11:40 am and waited until 12:15 pm.Ā IĀ went to the doors and knocked on the windows.Ā The doors were locked and the store was dark. I attempted to repeatedly call. IĀ was unable to leave any kind of a voicemail or speak to anyone.Ā I even went around back to see if maybe somebody was there but the store was completely empty.
I finally left in a panic because I had all this planned out and now my husband's 40th birthday was in shambles because it was way too late to at least get a cake made. However I ended up finding a store in The Woodlands. After discussing this nightmare over the phone, I drove to The Woodlands Mall and was able to get the cookie cake made there but no ice cream. Overall, I spent $85 just for a cookie cake and drove 175 miles round-trip.
Then at about 2:30 pm, I get a call from Julian telling me there was an emergency in Houston (guess that means everyone that works in the store on Tuesday had the same emergency) and that is why they weren't at the store. He wanted me to come back and get my order. Obviously I said no and wanted a refund. Julian stated he would credit me back the $48.69 that I originally pre-paid. First, my husband asked for banana in his ice cream, and the staff rudely told him absolutely not no explanation, just a flat refusal. That alone was off-putting, but things only got worse.
When I received my order, it was completely wrong. I had specifically requested certain toppings, and not only did they mess it up, but the staff insisted it was correct ,even though I could clearly see the ingredients in the display case. Instead of cake batter ice cream, they gave me cheesecake, and they replaced cookie dough with some random chocolate or brownie mix-in I didnāt ask for.
To make matters worse, when I asked for extra sprinkles, they said it would cost an additional dollar which would have been fine if they had at least made my order right. The staff, who seemed to be mostly young and unprofessional, were loud, rude, and more interested in joking around with nearby college students than actually serving customers. They paid little attention to us or anyone else waiting in line.
Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. We were treated poorly, our orders were wrong, and the staff had no interest in correcting their mistakes. My husband and I will not be returning, and I wouldnāt recommend this place to anyone who expects basic customer service...
