If you, or a relative were in the military and served in a combat area, think about becoming a member of Joshua Tree VFW or Auxiliary. This location is very active. They have awesome tacos, burritos and taco salads every Wednesday. Costs are extremely reasonable, about $3.25-$8. They have many events each month. They put out a newsletter and calendar monthly. They also have a full bar for members. Best Bloody Mary for $5 and multiple other choices. It is a good place to meet and make friends with just good hearted people. Pass through the area in July 2024 with friends. spent a couple of nights in 29 Palms, Being from Michigan, we found the area very interesting. My military duty did not involve combat, I belong to American Legion, but one of my friends was in country in Vietnam and a VFW member. Not so happy,,I needed help with propane,,3years ago I asked for help with gas and there was no problem I did like they asked sent them a copy of my va.
