My hubby and I went to Joshua park as a little get away, and our hotel didn't have a coffee maker or anything, and we both really dislike starbucks. So we decided to drive around to look for this cafe. It is a little hard to find because it's not clear on where to go to get inside the actual cafe.. no signs or anything. It is next to yoga and also pizza...., you're on a deck once you go through the cute little alleyway between the yoga and pizza places... And you pass the outdoor seating... don't give up just keep looking.. It's a little tiny place, cute display inside, many different coffee options. It isn't cheap. It's about the same price as a medium fancy coffee from peets or Starbucks (about 4 ish bucks) but it is small... like, really small. Kid size.... I'm not sure if they had other sizes.. but if I had to change one thing it would be the price for the size.. It's a bit much for it being so tiny.... other then that, it's the best coffee I've ever had, and it's made with the best milk. I had a small bit of honey in it and added a packet of their sugar crystals. It was amazing. Bought their coffee grounds.... half pound for 8 bucks. Also a little pricey .. but it's good nd it was a gift for my hubby bday. Anyways... amazing place. Should try it. They accept cards and apple/samsung/android pay.. And of course cash.. just don't get scared when your bill is high and you didn't get much. It is good...
Read moreCoffee taste is good, I tried the cold brew and it was delicious. But customer service is horrible. I bought 2 bags of whole beans and asked them to grind 1 bag. The guy who took my order forgot to grind my coffee, instead he kept taking orders and making coffee for everyone else and left my unground coffee on the counter. I waited patiently because there were so many people, even though I felt like he should've just ground my coffee before taking new orders and making coffee for them. 15 minutes later of watching him make coffee for everyone else, he disappears. Thinking that he might be getting the grinder ready to grind my coffee, I waited some more. My unground coffee still on the counter. I finally realized he just left so I approached a lady who worked there and let her know I've been waiting for 25 minutes for my coffee that's been on the counter all this time to be grounded. She seemed to be confused like I was lying and gave me attitude and thought the other bag of whole beans on my hand was not paid for. She didn't apologize for thinking that way nor for the fact that they forgot to grind my coffee. Then, It literally took her 30 seconds to grind my coffee beans. I don't know if she grinded it correctly, I didn't check yet. She handed me the ground coffee bag without saying a word. I wish I knew the names of these 2 people who didn't help me. Worst coffee shop experience ever. But...
Read moreWe were in the area for three days enjoying the Joshua Tree park, and we found this coffee shop on day two. We weren't even staying in the town of Joshua Tree, but it was worth the extra drive. Delicious coffee, absolutely top notch. I'm not an expert, so I can't really describe it, it was just rich, bold, not bitter, and yummy. (Another review says it tastes like Starbucks, BUT IT DOES NOT! So much better.)
Be prepared for a possible wait, because the place is very, very small and the line can quickly go out the door. There isn't a place indoors to sit (from what I could tell), so it's not great for staying during inclement weather. But there is a lot of outdoor seating, and it's a quaint courtyard area. They offer free wifi, which is great. The people (workers and fellow customers) were friendly and fun.
We bought two bags of espresso beans to take home and a bag of coffee pre-ground for use in a french press as a gift for my sister. Absolutely primo stuff.
Tip: The coffee shop is around the BACK, so on the front of the building you'll see a sign that says "YOGA" right next to the coffee company logo. Find the open gate that leads to the courtyard in between the buildings and go all the way back and around to the left to find the coffee shop door. Don't give up! It's...
