T.J. Maxx — Local services in Kansas City

I shop at this location often, sometimes once a week. I try on clothes most every time I'm there. They have to count your clothes (even if you tell them how many you have) which I guess I can understand however today as I left the dressing room, with the 3 items I walked in with, I placed the number on the counter and walked out. I did not plan on buying any of the items but I thought I would go ahead and put the clothes back to be nice. As I'm walking away, the dressing room attended hollers at me to come back because she needs to count my clothes. I was confused to why she needed to count my clothes again. I told her I was putting them back and no one has ever asked me to count my clothes as I exited the dressing room. She said it was store policy, a policy I've never expericed there before. I was made to feel like a thief. She made me feel like I was trying to pull a fast one and steal something. I do not appreciate being treated like a criminal when I was simply trying to be nice. I was so upset with the situation I walked out without purchasing anything. If this location has a problem with theft I suggest they come up with a different method of cracking down on it opposed to treating honest people like they are liars...

I love TJ Max as a store generally but this is the worst TJ Max I’ve ever been to and solely due to the poor customer service. The store itself is not bad and quite well stocked, the staff just make the shopping experience very unenjoyable. Firstly I wanted to look at some watches and the lady working there was very cold and unfriendly, after I decided I didn’t like what I tried on she just said “so do you want it?” Then once I said no she just grabbed it and didn’t say anything. Then once we went to pay we were served by Paula (one of the managers I think) and she had a terrible attitude. She didn’t even say hello or anything and had no manners. I didn’t realize that one of the items I had chosen was more expensive than expected and once I told her I no longer wanted it she sighed and acted as if I had just given her the hardest task ever, as if voiding the item was such a big deal. I will never return to this store and would advise others to go to another TJ Max where the staff actually want to provide a good experience and...

I am a frequent tjmax shopper but I have only been to this location a few times. Every time I come to this location all the employees are polite and help out a lot but I do have to say the biggest downfall is one employee named Paula. She is insanely rude to her coworkers and to her customers! I could not believe how rude she was in front of everyone in line. I have no idea what her deal is but every time we have came in she had the worst attitude towards customers and her coworkers. There is no reason to act like this on a daily basis and I would understand I have worked retail but I always make sure to be polite especially at work! It’s pathetic, won’t be shopping here anymore until she learns to be nice to others and be professional. Btw if you ever have to deal with her don’t change your mind about anything you bring up to the cash register she gave us the worst attitude as if it was so hard for her to just void the item and...
