I have never had so many issues with an ice cream shop. For starters, I visited a few weeks ago and got 2 shakes to-go for my husband and I. I told the worker that I wanted a nutter butter shake for my husband – she said that they were out of nutter butter so I called him to let him know, and alternatively he wanted a reeces shake. The worker said no problem and started on it. I saw she was scooping out of the bin labeled “root beer” and brought that to her attention to ensure we got the order correct. She said “No, I know this one is the peanut butter because of the way it looks”, I said okay, and let her continue. I brought the shake home to my husband and he immediately says it tastes like rootbeer. I call the store, no answer, so contact customer service to tell them about the experience. The manager, Julie, reached out to me to offer me a free shake and apology.
Fast forward to today, my husband goes to cold stone to surprise me with a shake for our anniversary (he paid for this one). He gets home and it is half way full. I made a joke with him thinking that he had consumed half of the shake on his way home. Wrong. He said the worker gave it to him this way and that he was rude and didn’t want to ask for another. So I drive BACK to Coldstone to get a new shake (again, 15 minute drive) to show up to the store locked and closed. It was 5:00pm. The store is noted to close at 9pm. My frustration grew and I contacted the same manager who said “oh sorry, i’ll give you a $10 gift card”. At this point you’ve got to be kidding me. I just drove 30 minutes round trip, as well as my husband, to get an $8 shake corrected and you offer me $10? I am beyond upset and feel as if this has completely ruined my mood for our anniversary. Edited based on owners response: The gal working cut our first apple, and told us it was rotten. So we picked another apple, and she cut that one too, and packaged it up. This Apple was also rotten but she gave it to us anyway!! So when we got home and realized this I called for a refund. One woman told me 5 minutes and then went to the back. 10 minutes later, I was still waiting for some assistance. There were approximately 4 ladies working tonight. They left me up front by myself with no assistance what so ever. When I finally grew tired of waiting, I said hello for them to know that someone was still here waiting.
