Ill start by saying I usually don't write reviews about places unless they really stand out to me.
SUMMARY:
There were only three people on staff when I walked in. Of course I thought it may be a little interesting to see how only three people can manage a nice place with just one cook essentially.
I must say, these three really knocked my expectations 180.
To elaborate. I'm a very picky eater, I usually only get one item from one burger place, and stick to it. But Kowbell seriously made me very genuinely smile with my first bites of both my burger and fries and really redefined what a GOOD gourmet burger was to me.
THE FOOD:
My choice of burger (holy shiitake) was excellently cooked with just the perfect amount of pink, very well seasoned, and oozed subtle truffle flavor without being overbearing or palate destroying like a certain chain of "smashed" burgers..
The fries in my opinion always make or break a place for me. I'm not sure how, but the one cook I saw going at it today was on his a game. The fries were thick cut but still somehow CRISPY, which is exactly what I'd imagine my perfect fry would be. The kimchi-ranchish sauce that accompanied the fries were very much the cherry on top, better than any other fry accommodating sauce I've ever had.
CONCLUSION/TLDR: I came in as a curious, picky, and well seasoned burger eater. I left with the impression that if I could ever bring one restaurant to compete with the vast plethora of burger chains that scatter the country, Kowbell would definitely be my top contender. They check all the boxes, they have a great team, and I appreciate the enthusiasm of the owner, the fantastic cook, the amazing attention to flavorand detail, and the sweet and patient cashier who took my order. I will be back tomorrow during my lunch break for another round. Well...

Read moreWe wanted to grab a bite while grocery shopping at H-Mart in Katy Asian Town, we noticed that there is a new burger placeâŚYay! Weâre always eager to try a new spot especially if it involves a burgerâŚbut a Fusion Korean Burger???? Yes, Please!
The menu isnât very big but itâs a burger jointâŚcome on! I ordered the K-Town Burger while my husband got the Fire on the Mountain Burger. Both burgers are perfectly cookedâŚvery nice and juicy just the way we like it.
The K-Town Burger comes with American Cheese, Smoked Bacon, Kimchi Jam, and Ssam sauce. The sauce and kimchi jam was a nice touch, itâs not at all overwhelming but just enough to make you stop to think about it. Itâs a little savory, sweet and a touch of umami. Itâs very delicious, I highly recommend this one!
My husband really enjoyed his Fire on the Mountain Burger as well. It comes with Pepper Jack Cheese, caramelized onions, Soy-Pickled Jalapenos and some really yummy sauce. The combination works really well both flavor and texture-wise. The onions and jalapenos add a nice sweet, savory and a little bit of a kick. I need a jar of that soy jalapeno though.
We also got an order of their fries. Its thin crispy fries that are not overly cooked which is a plusâŚ. get their special sauces because itâs excellent and compliments the fries very well.
We really enjoyed our experience at this cozy little locally owned Burger spot. The food was delicious, the restaurant is clean, service was greatâŚeveryone is super nice, friendly and patient. We hear theyâve added Nashville Chicken Sandwich to the menu, we canât wait to try that next.
If youâre craving a Delicious, Juicy and perfectly cooked burger with a Korean twistâŚtheir GRAND OPENING day is tomorrow...
