USPS Katy Annex — Local services in Katy

If there were zero stars, that would be my rating. The absolute worst customer service anyone would ever experience can be found at this annex location. I did a change of address online, and informed delivery. I even paid for a new mailbox key which I understand would take several weeks. My issue of concern is the fact that I filled out a paper allowing them to hold my mail pending the time the mailbox key would be available. I checked back a few weeks later, I was told there was no such documentation on file. Yet I keep receiving emails of my scanned mail pieces telling me up to the day it was delivered.

I went to the post office on 9/3/21 and was informed that it would be taken care of. I was even told my mails would be hand delivered to me. Well that was a lie, would you believe that my mails were delivered to someone else. Imagine if that neighbor was not kind enough to bring the mails to my house. My driver's license was in there, along with other documents.

The nightmare does not end there. I called today to relay my concern, mid- speaking a man told me I was rude and hung up on me. This is the post office where my tax dollars fund. I tried to call back and it was ringing busy. Not until, I dialed from a different number did I get through. Why does it have to be this way? I finally got to speak with someone but it is the same old story, we'll take care of this and they never do. I have lived in this Katy zip code for about 8 years and they have been consistent with awful service, including the mail carriers. I could go on but I don't have all day. Is it the delivery mail man that'll claim no one is home and take back our packages or other people's mail pieces in our mailbox, and vice versa. The service is awful and I am not surprised the USPS is running in the red. If I had a choice, I would never use this service but being the monopoly for residential mail, we're just stuck!

Update 9/13/21 I was expecting a delivery today from USPS which contained medication which required an adult sign. Sure enough, USPS claimed it was delivered as I received a notification at 5:51pm. I was by door at 5:52 pm as there was no one else home. I did not see the package. I checked and the mail carrier had a forged confirmation signature claiming someone signed for it. Why does it have to be this way? This is medication and a carrier can do this. I called I was able to get through to someone named Feggins and regardless, it is all around bad service. My medication which is badly needed is god knows where. This has to be the worst post office in the country.

Update 11/1/21 I had a package scheduled for delivery on 10/26, and in true Katy Annex fashion, my package was not delivered to my mailbox and is no where to be found. I went to their location and I was just told someone would call me back. No one called, worst part is that keys to package lock boxes are left hanging around for other folks. I saw an open lock box with someone's medication, so I won't be surprised if that's what happened to my package. All I am asking for is what my taxes pay for, mail service with assurance of delivery and not constant headaches. I don't understand why this organization does not want to improve!!!

Update 12/8/21 The service seems to get worse. I keep getting other people's mail in my mailbox. I don't understand why the mail carrier refuses to do his or her work. The service is beyond awful.

Update 02/05/22 The Katy pin oak post office carrier has continued to steal our packages. We receive notifications that our packages was delivered to our front door only to not find anything. Packages from Neiman Marcus are suddenly missing. I don't know why this is still going on. Stop stealing packages and claiming they were delivered. Katy pin oak, this needs...

Package 19 May 16, 2020. After four successful deliveries since the last report, here we are with package 19. The same M.O.; the tracking site reports the package was delivered, but, of course, the eternal question is, to whom? Certainly not to the correct mailbox. And, as so often before, no one will dare answer the phone at the Katy Annex. And, to add insult to injury, the"missing mail" site will not accept the information to search for the package. Minus 5 stars.

Package 18 update. I called the Katy Annex 16 times over the course of two days "after 9am" as directed and, as expected based on experience, no answer.

Package 18 August 9, 2019. Package number 18 was marked as being delivered to my mailbox, but, alas, it was not. It is at the point when I receive a USPS tracking number, I simply resign myself to the arduous task of numerous phone calls to FINALLY receive my package. Of course, I phoned Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 but no one answered the phone. This morning, Monday, August 12 at 7:40am, I phoned and a person who identified herself as Lisa, answered my call abruptly interupting my explanation to say no one would help me until 9:00am. So, for now, I wait...

Package 17: July 8, 2019. After a brief period of luck receiving four packages on time and as indicated on the website, my luck came to a screeching halt. Package number 17 that was marked as being delivered in the mailbox but, wait for it, was not. I phoned the Katy Annex the morning of July 9 at 0730 and was told I would receive a call back once the carriers had arrived at 0830. As of 1530, no call back and the package has still not been delivered. I tried calling the annex four times but no answer... after three more unanswered calls, I spoke with someone who checked and said the package had been delivered to my box today - it had not. She said she spoke to the carrier and 20 minutes later, he was at my door with my package. At 1630 I received a call saying the package was delivered to my door.

Package 16 not delivered: November 25, 2018. Package was marked as being hand delivered on the Amazon site AND left at the front door on the USPS site at 1824 hrs. Of course, it was not. However, at 1931 hrs, the package was actually delivered.

Package 15 not delivered: The October 30 package was FINALLY delivered after 4 days and 5 phone calls. Of course, during the 4 days, the package was marked as being delivered 3 separate times.

Package 14 not delivered: One year later and, today, October 30, 2018, makes 14 deliveries that were marked on the website as being delivered but were not. This level of ineptitude has risen to fraud and malfeasance.

I have NEVER experienced such a horrible service like the one I am experiencing with this office right now 02/15!

I clearly saw the van drive up my road on Saturday 02/12, even waited opposite my house for some few minutes! With the belief that my package had been delivered based on what I saw and the update on informed delivery that my package was delivered, I made way to the mailbox - NOTHING!

Gave the benefit of doubt and waited for Monday (02/14) carrier who did not show up until 7pm, and to my dismay he didn’t have my package neither is it in any of my neighbors mailbox!

02/15 made it to the office only to be told in a VERY rude manner “it has been delivered and if you don’t have it go file a claim”!

Like seriously! Filing a claim is the resolution! What happened to tracking the mail, finding out which driver supposedly delivered, calling the driver, checking the office!

A supposed manager came on board per my request, only for me to be informed the package was scanned twice by two different carriers - why? (Maybe I will get the answer by the time I get to the bottom of this!)

“Ma’am, give me 2 hours to allow the carrier to check their van” said by the supposed manager, “ok I will”!

2 hours came, called endlessly they will not pick! Made way to the post office and asked to speak to the supposed manager that gave me 2 hours, “the supposed manager is on a conference call”.

I have been waiting on my feet for the past 1.5hrs!

This is an official document and someone has decided to steal it from this post office! I never knew they had this much of a bad reputation! Is there no one checkmating the service of this unit!

This is absolutely not good enough!!!

UPDATE: After several calls, reports and keeping a night vigil by the mailbox, finally got my package 4 days after.

But now 3/21 the same thing has happened again. Package scanned at 4.28pm as delivered. Ran out quickly - no mail man, absolutely nothing in mailbox!

I am sick and tired of this...
