Probably my most disappointing experience with rent a center ever. I ordered a washer and dryer, I work nights until 6am, and sleep during the day, so I stayed up to wait for them because I was told they would be at my home at 10:30am. They didn’t show up until 12:30 (I basically could’ve slept like I normally do until 12 and still been up and available when they got there) and I also asked for a call when they were coming that I didn’t get. But I accepted it was a misunderstanding, I’m usually pretty understanding towards others. Then when they got there they didn’t have the hoses needed to operate the washer so I had to wait to use them and had to stay up another day waiting again. Still I didn’t complain, I worked in customer service most of my life and try to be understanding to mistakes. Then, to top off the experience, I had an unavoidable family emergency come up on my first monthly payment and wanted to delay it a week and they gave me so much grief about it, threatening to pick up my washer and dryer because the account was “new”. I told them I’d have the money in a few days (less than 7 from the due date) before I would have time to wait up for them to pick it up and would pay any late fees, and they still insisted they would need to pick it up rather than accept my 6 day late payment. I was just shocked at that… I have never had a rent a center act like that over a monthly payment less than one week late. It just really ruined the experience. I’ve used rent a center for years and have never been met with so much grief over a late payment. I get I was late, it was an unexpected emergency, unavoidable and wasn’t even a whole week late, and after I was understanding to their mishaps and inconvenience to me to boot. So long story short I got a washer dryer combo then out of no where the dryer was making noises they took it to get “FIXED” but two weeks later they came to give it back with the same noise so I call they send me a different one and say to keep that one instead no extra charge everything is peach’s ! Then BOOM I start getting charged 79 something when I payed 56 mind you on auto pay each month for about a year then they wanna tell oh no your late the “SYSTEM “ keeps kicking your card out that’s why the high payments like what and mind you this happens for a whole MONTH ! I finally call corporate and that’s when the truth comes out ! They proceed to tell I signed for NEW AGREEMENT that I NEVERRRRRRRRRE signed for I’m no lawyer but that’s sounds super ILLEGAL !!!!! ANYWAYS they signed without my consent and it took for me to call corporate because the so called MANGER is literally the worst customer service in the world couldn’t do anything but accuse me of not paying and being super rude ! so unless you want to waste your money and time and never get answers unless you call corporate then please BUY FROM THEM LOL! They also keep upping our monthly payment and won't ever properly fix the fact THEY NEVER DELIVERED THE TV WE ORIGINALLY ASKED FOR, AND KEPT A CHEAPER TV INSTEAD. We had the payment date set up for the middle of the month and next thing we know they are calling us trying to find our house stating our payment is late from the beginning of the month.
