Read moreThe food was delicious! We have eaten at many Thai restaurants, and I also worked at a Thai restaurant in college. We love Thai food and we were visiting town. I had the veggie dish with rice. My husband had the red curry duck with rice. Both very good. FYI they automatically charge 18% for the tip and then on the receipt it shows suggested tip amount examples for 15%, 20%, and 22% on top of the bill. If you tip 20% blindly without looking at the bill, you might miss it and tip twice. My husband noticed it. If a restaurant has great service you don’t need automatic tips, but I also know a lot of places are hurting for work where they might need to do that to keep servers showing up. The view is beautiful. We ate on the patio and the fans were on. (The fans need to be cleaned and there could use some remodeling to make the patio more inviting.) I would not recommend to order the kids French Fries. It should be listed as “Side of French Fries” because there was maybe 15 fries. We were told they have had this amount of French Fries for 10 years like this. There was only one other child in the restaurant, so the kids menu could use one more item to attract kids/families. We understand the economy is tight where $4.50 for fries is what is the going rate. We have three kids, so we ordered three items off the kids menu for them to share. The kids fried rice and kids chicken nuggets was a fair portion for the price. The food wasn’t oily, and they have a very good cook. I would charge $5 for French Fries and give more fries or leave it at $4.50 and call it Side of French Fries since it was listed as a kid’s meal. If you like Thai food, you will love the food! I also liked how my veggies were perfectly cooked. Great cooks and the owner...
Read moreThai Ocha was a pleasant surprise. I'd originally had no intention of going to a Thai place in the middle of the Texas Hill Country, but a local told my daughter's friend that it was a great place so we gave it a try. The food was delicious. The menu was large without being too overwhelming with a great selection of Curry's, Fried rice dishes and other Thai food with your choice of protein (beef, chicken, pork or Tofu) and fried or steamed rice if you weren't already ordering a rice dish. We tried the pork and shrimp egg rolls which came to our table hot and crispy and had a plethoraa of flavors with a nicely spiced pork. For the entree I ordered my mainstay of pineapple fried rice, which had some nicely roasted pineapple and just enough raisins to prevent the chicken and rice from being overwhelmed. My daughter enjoyed her fried rice with Tofu and Broccoli while her friend enjoyed the yellow curry. Neither could finish their food as the portions were very generous. We had to skip dessert but I do wish I'd been able to try the sticky rice and mango listed in the desserts menu. Given the quality of the rest of the meal, I'm sure I wouldn't have been disappointed! Enjoy a meal out at the Thai Ocha. I'm glad I found it and hope to go again on my next visit...
