Maybe it was the rainy gloomy day, maybe we interupted the overworked, underpaid lady we had to wait for at the counter. All I know is as seniors and visitors from out of town inquiring about a pair of boots for our grandson. Don't make the mistake to ask about a senior discount, or heaven forbid aspects of returns for credit if a pair of used boots don't fit a kid who isn't with you. We were talked to like "don't ask questions, do you want them or not, if not get out attitude". We left not making a purchase and then noticed a "15% off shoes" sign handwritten on the lower part of the front door. Thrift stores are a big help to the senior and low income community and we appreciate Goodwills, Sal. Army and the like, but as for the old lady at the Kerrville Salvation Army...Don't ask questions, just buy it and get out. Or a least consider not going at 2pm on a Monday when maybe some other person...

Read moreHoly Moses their prices are high. I visit a lot of thrift stores in multiple states, they are priced at urban Goodwill pricing. The base prices are on the upper end of acceptable ($7 jeans), but, they go way over the top on marking up individual items. (Busted boots for $60, low end mall brand shirts at $11, belts at $10) Judging by the dates on the tags, they aren't moving merchandise all that quickly.
They do the color of the week half off sale, but, that only gets you down to reasonable prices.
