This was a disorganized and unsafe experience. We booked based on the amazing reviews but our experience was nothing like what was written.

Our captain was pretty terrible. He showed up late and I overheard him arguing with the staff about how late he was.

He came up to me and told me he had no idea what this charter was despite all info being provided when we registered directly with mellow 3 weeks prior.

He immediately told me likely we wouldn’t be able to go to any of the places we wanted (all listed on mellow website and reviews).

His experience with kids/people left a lot to be desired. He did not ask anything about us, our trip, or make an effort to explain anything. He watched us as we struggled up and the stairs with kids and flippers. We have done many boat excursions before, we have never had a captain that apathetic.

He was also really unhelpful and we felt unsafe multiple times on the charter. The only available seats on the boat were padded coolers that were not affixed to anything on the boat. On the return home the coolers were flying towards us while we had to shield our kids with our bodies.

After sharing this information we were refunded $100 of the $880 we paid.

This cafe has been one of my staples for a couple years. When I lived in KW, I ate here 3-5 times a week and sat at the bar with my laptop for hours.

The menu is full of very healthy and yummy options. The tacos are excellent - especially the breakfast taco. Wild boar taco! There’s usually some kind of special nibble of some sort too.

Of note:

Overnight oats are a very healthy and energy loaded breakfast option.

Those on a keto diet will find the bulletproof coffee to be a pleasant surprise.

Beer selection is wide, varied and changes often.

Service, pricing and quality of food is at an optimal ratio that exceeds most of the standards you are usually stuck with in the keys when not forking over hundreds. This is a budget option that doesn’t suck - a unicorn in the keys.

This is the best kept secret in Key West. If you are looking for a private tour of some of the best water and paddle boarding, this is the place.

We did a half day Eco tour of the mangroves on paddle boards today and the water was absolutely beautiful. You know all that colorful water you see from the bridge coming in, well you got to play in that today. By far this is the best adventure you will find in Key West.

Our guide Lisa was very knowledgeable of all the plant and aquatic life around the island. We found Cassiopeia (the upside down jellyfish), a couple of sharks, lots of southern rays, and many different types of fish.
