I first reached out to Rushmore Telephone Company on June 9, 2025. The time of this review is July 30, 2025. In the last nearly two months, I have tried to get fiber installed at my property. After over a dozen phone calls and nearly two months of waiting, not only do I not have functioning internet yet, but I can say without a doubt that this company may be one of the most inept companies I have ever dealt with. The woman that handles phone calls, I think it might be Cheryl, is dismissive and at times condescending. I am unsure if it is the fault of Cheryl or the company as a whole, but she is completely unaware of what stage of installation her customers are at and what is needed next. During one phone call, I was trying to get an updated timeline and learn what the next step was. She asked me if the fiber had been spliced yet, ultimately I was unsure and told her I thought not. After some delay I was scheduled to be spliced and the contractor who does the work had to call me personally and explain that it had already been spliced. Clearly, Rushmore Telephone had no idea what was going on with my installation. I am not certain what the exact next step is or how long this will take. When I ask, Cheryl responds that she does not know and cannot tell me. She has referred to a, “list,” but can never seem to tell me where I am on the list or who I can contact to get answers. I am unsure if this list is even real, because if they were keeping track of things they should have known I had already been spliced. Cheryl insists that I can expect a phone call to schedule the next step, but the phone call never seems to come. At this rate, I would like to see this process through so I can update my review with how long the process took to complete and speak to the quality of the internet. But if anyone is considering using this company and has not yet made their decision, you may be better off getting Starlink’s satellite...
Read moreThe lady in the office is not very helpful, airy, lacks knowledge, lacks answering phones, or calling people back. Trinity is nice and helpful, it takes her a while to get somewhere to service stuff, but I think she's spread thin since companies lack hiring enough people. The internet itself is shotty, especially for the price tag, but they can charge whatever they want since they don't have much competition...
