Parrot Bay — Local services in Kill Devil Hills

Was just here shopping on our way home from a nice trip. Lots of people shopping and looking at shirts. Not sure if she was the owner or just a staff member, but the older woman with blonde hair in a pony tail was walking around aggressively folding shirts that had been looked at, huffing and puffing about them being unfolded and causing a very unprofessional scene. Seemed quite ridiculous for working at a retail store full of tshirts, where customers are going to spend $20-30 on a shirt only AFTER picking the right size and style they want. Cute stuff inside but could tell several other people shopping were uncomfortable as well. We quit shopping, paid for what we had and left. My family stop in to Parrot Bay at least 2 times a year. Once during our summer week vacation and the other in the fall to do some back-to-school and Christmas shopping. Well we just made our summer visit today. And I have to say that we were a bit disappointed. The store is more cluttered then in the past, they have done away with the nice jewlery they use to carry. They have always been my go to for nice jewlery pieces. We totally understand the crowds, that is never a problem. At the check out, yes we made a good size purchase, the cashier was not very friendly, more like hurry up attitude. I asked about the free t-shirt offer and she didnt want to show me the styles they were using as the give aways. The rack was behind her and it was difficult to see what was there. Love this store.... Was a little disappointed in staff.... They have a policy that if you spend $69 you get a free T-shirt... No big deal, my family spent almost $400 (received 1 free shirt) and I was debating about another item and my daughter went up and was checking out for a sale of $50 and I was trying to tell her to wait, the employee (maybe she honestly didn't know) but watched my daughter get rang up and never intervened to help accommodate us as customers! Not the biggest deal.... But if you are shopping and want the free shirt (once again, not a big deal). Make sure you ring up separate and or together to get your shirt! Normally I would give them a higher rating...
